Blending timeless charm with modern comforts to create an inviting haven for family and friends. Essington Park offers a tranquil escape for relaxation, connection, and creativity. Experience its magic, make lasting memories, and let this historic retreat welcome you home. The space Welcome to Essington Park- Your Historic Stay in NSW Essington Park Shearers' Quarters is a beautiful historic retreat surrounded by vast grazing farmland near Oberon, in the Central Tablelands of NSW. My twin sister Joey and I discovered this enchanting place by accident years ago, and we’ve been captivated ever since. As kids exploring our creative paths—me as a cook and Joey as a painter—Essington Park became our haven, inspiring us with its charm and mystery. This homestead has seen generations of families, each leaving their mark, and its enduring energy continues to spark creativity, connection, and rest. We’ve built a life of love here and are now thrilled to share its magic with you. The Shearers’ Quarters Our sleeping quarters include five cozy bedrooms: one with a double bed and four with queen beds. Two rooms have private ensuites, while three share luxurious bathrooms down a short garden path. Each bed is dressed in crisp, luxury linen, wool blankets, and, during winter, flannelette sheets for extra warmth. Wardrobe space is limited due to the quarters’ original purpose, but we’ve added hooks, baskets, and shelves for your convenience. Rooms include heaters, electric blankets, and hot water bottles to keep you warm. Luxurious Bathrooms Essington Park offers four bathrooms, including two spacious separate bathrooms with clawfoot bathtubs and showers—just a short walk from the veranda. Two bedrooms have private ensuites with stunning views. Towels and luxury amenities are provided. The Heart of the Home: Kitchen The kitchen is the soul of Essington Park, once nourishing shearers after a long day. A large dining table seats ten, and the kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances, cooking utensils, and a breakfast basket. Essentials like local olive oil, freshly ground coffee, and premium teas are always stocked. The Sitting Room Relax in the sitting room by the original fireplace, surrounded by books and cozy nooks. There’s no TV, but with free Wi-Fi, you can stream entertainment if you wish. Board games and plenty of firewood ensure your stay is as cozy as possible. The Library & Quiet Space This self-contained retreat is perfect for reading, yoga, or quiet reflection. Curl up on leather couches by the fire, or dine at the table set amidst a collection of books. A small kitchenette with a stove, fridge, and dishwasher adds convenience. Outdoor Spaces Enjoy drinks and conversation around the fire pit, with all firewood and marshmallows provided. Pick fresh produce from the herb and veggie garden, and help feed our friendly chickens. Guests can collect fresh eggs for a hearty breakfast, paired with house-made sourdough and homemade preserves and jams.
