Description

Located in the heart of Baixo Alentejo, on the banks of the Mira River, this space is a privileged place for the magnificent landscape and surrounding environment. In this amazing oasis in the Alentejo landscape, we are invited to listen to the birdsong, the running water of the stream or simply find the quiet of nature. If we prefer more activity, we can follow trails on foot, by bicycle or even on horseback. We can also explore the Mira River by kayak or on a boat trip. The space In this landscape, there are 4 houses that preserve the original Alentejo style, decorated in a minimalist way with some design pieces, which create a surprising and welcoming contrast. All the houses have air conditioning in the living room and bedroom and a kitchenette (equipped with an electric stove, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and Delta capsule coffee machine), so you can have your meals without having to go to a restaurant, if you wish. Outside, you will find different nooks to relax and several dining tables. By the pool, you can let yourself be lulled by the scent of the estva, on a Balinese bed or on a lounger. In the morning, a basket of delicious delicacies is delivered to each house for you to enjoy breakfast outdoors or in the comfort of “your” home. (for reservations with breakfast option) Guest access Nature invites you to rest, but also to discover. Hikes: Find tranquility on the banks of the Mira River, where you can take a walk. All trails are good for losing yourself in thought or sharing moments and conversations. Bike rides: We provide bicycles so you can explore the region. Enter the magnificent countryside by pedaling, discover the scents of Alentejo and feel the breeze of nature away from the pollution and bustle of big cities. Birding: There are several birds residing in our little Alentejo corner. If we are attentive, we can identify many of those that fly over these fields. Jeep ride: Take advantage of your stay to ride an all-terrain jeep and explore Alentejo in a more radical way. Kayak tour: Go on an adventure and discover the nooks and crannies of the dam on a kayak tour that we make available to our guests. Boat trip: We offer the opportunity to navigate the calm waters of the Sta Clara Dam. Let yourself be enchanted by these landscapes on a boat ride in the morning or afternoon. Sport fishing: We are tempted to immerse ourselves in the arms of the Mira River and the Sta Clara Dam, where, if you accept the challenge, you can go sport fishing. Horseback riding: Go on an adventure, at a walk or trot, and get to know the fields and people of Alentejo. If you prefer, you can start with a riding lesson so that on the next opportunity you can gain the courage for a longer ride. Archaeological circuit The houses of Castro da Cola are located next to the archaeological circuit of Castro da Cola, an important archaeological station, classified as a national monument. Discover the culture of other peoples who passed through here more than eight thousand years ago. To better understand this space, you can count on the help of the Reception and Interpretation Center located on site. Next door is the church of Nossa Senhora da Cola, a sanctuary that receives one of the largest pilgrimages in the Baixo Alentejo. Visit to the village of Ourique: The village of Ourique, located 15 km from Castro da Cola, was the site of the famous Battle of Ourique between D. Afonso Henriques and the Moors in 1139. Visiting the overlook, where the castle once was, is another mandatory route to admire the beautiful fields and gardens of this village. ALGARVE: If you opt for a busier day, find the beaches of the Algarve 45 minutes away. Other things to note Breakfast, not included in the reservation, can be requested from the host up to 1 day before check-in. Breakfast price: €14/person Registration Details 5915/AL
