Creekside Cool Bus - skoolie near Pocahontas SP

Experience a cozy, rustic stay in our converted school bus, nestled on 5 acres of woods including a private creek. Thoughtfully designed for a simple, comfortable getaway, it's packed with charm and everything you need for a unique glamping experience. Visit the friendly chickens, spot the gnomes on our private woodland trail, relax by the fire pit, and enjoy nature all around you. Just 5 minutes from Pocahontas State Park (pass included) and 30 minutes from Richmond. The space Our unique skoolie comes equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, but due to the rustic nature of the space, please read the full description to make sure this is the right experience for you! *Beds* Comfortable queen-sized bed in the back. The couch folds down into a bed slightly smaller than a full size mattress. Bedding included for both beds with extra blankets. *Bus Kitchen* Gas stove top inside the bus (back burner knob removed for fire safety). Pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, storage containers, and french press are all included. RV fridge and freezer. Small kitchen sink with hot water. *Bus Bathroom* There is a Nature’s Head composting toilet, with instructions included, and please only use the bus bathroom for urinating only. We ask you to empty the urine at the end of your stay, although it is not required. *Main House Full Bathroom* You have access to a full bathroom, shower, and laundry in a side door of the main house. If you prefer convenience over adventure and are not comfortable with a short walk (approximately 150 feet) to use the bathroom facilities, this may not be the ideal booking for you. The owners of the house also use this space for laundry, but it is closed off from the rest of the house to ensure privacy. *Heating/Cooling* Portable A/C unit on bus. Diesel heater as well as a wood burning stove to keep you warm in the winter. Firestarters and wood for the stove are included. Maxxair Fan and personal fan for your use are provided. Keep in mind this is a school bus with minimal insulation and it might be a little hot/ cold inside depending on the weather, but we will do everything possible to keep you comfortable. *Outdoors* Includes a deck with a small seating area and a pergola covering a picnic table offering sun and rain protection There is a charcoal grill (we do not provide charcoal and cleaning is a guest responsibility). Enjoy a campfire in the private fire ring. There is plenty of firewood to collect in the woods. Look for the gnomes and follow the walking trail from the campsite to explore the creek and more of the backyard. Feel free to check out our chickens! You may feed them table scraps. *Electricity* Has 2 USB outlets (charging cords included) and a standard wall outlet. Wifi is available with high downloading speeds. *Pets* All pets are welcome! Please keep in mind that we have a dog on the property contained to our yard by an electric invisible fence, and he is not able to access the campsite. We ask that you keep your pup on a leash unless it is well trained and can stay in the campsite area and away from our pet, and we also ask that you do not leave your dogs unattended on the bus for long periods of time. Our chickens free roam and may be near the school bus. Guest access You will need to drive on a dirt road and over some roots through our backyard to access the school bus. Cars are able to access the bus without difficulty. There is ample parking right next to the school bus. Other things to note The interior height of the bus is only 6 feet so please note that it could be a bit cramped for taller individuals. We are located in the woods with ticks, bugs, and wildlife. We have provided bug spray but also highly recommend you treat your dogs for ticks before arriving. We have included a state park pass in the bus to explore the nearby Pocahontas State Park.
