Description

Make yourself right at home in this fully remodeled 1910 Craftsman Style Bungalow in the extremely-walkable SD neighborhood of South Park and Golden Hills. Our solar-powered home is located in the heart of San Diego overlooking the Balboa Park Golf Course on a palm-tree lined street. Less than three miles from the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park museums, downtown, Petco Park (SD Padres), the Convention Center (ComiCon), and Seaport Village. Only 5 miles to the San Diego International Airport. The space The 1910-built bungalow style home is situated in the heart of the city in South Park/Golden Hills where food, drink, and adventure are walkable, with several options minutes away. The cozy feel of the house is a great way to unwind after a day of work or play in beautiful San Diego. Each room is simply curated, comfortable, and intended to be as cozy as possible. The house is recently remodeled with solar panels, refinished hardwood floors, a new AC unit, triple-pane windows (not reflected in pictures), new paint inside, a comfy kitchen with all of the amenities (recently added dishwasher), and relaxing back yard with a natural gas BBQ grill and outdoor heaters in case it gets chilly. And if you don't want to drive anywhere, the neighborhood walk-ability is great with some fantastic local eateries. The queen beds can sleep 4, easily. For the 6-guest bookings, there is a comfy air mattress and set of linens that can sleep two... or remove the back couch pillows to make a cozy couch-bed to split up. Guest access You will have access to the entire home which includes the larger bedroom with a walk-in closet, a smaller guest bedroom with closet, spacious bathroom with dual sinks, connected dining and living room, and spacious kitchen with large range hood that is fully stocked with all the tools you need to prepare a home-cooked meal. The TV has full access to Netflix and Disney video. For 6-guest bookings, there is an air mattress and set of linens that can sleep two. The off-street driveway space is yours to use so that you never need to look for parking. The outside space includes front deck with a great vantage point to people watch or start the day with a fresh French-press coffee, your favorites from Starbucks (1 block away), or a local craft coffee shop within a couple minutes (7 Seas, Communal, or Coffe Drop are my favs). The back deck leads to a neatly curated garden setting with lots of natural sunlight all day long and an outdoor couch to unwind to watch some planes pass over-head. A natural gas BBQ is ready to cook you up meats from the local butcher shop (1 block away) or some goodies from the local Mexican carniceria (meat market) only about 7 blocks away. There is a small storage trailer in the gated-driveway and a back tiny-house that is fully separate from the house. Occasionally, I'll stay in the ADU but, I will be out-of-sight while you have the house booked so that you can enjoy the space. I will be sure to give a friendly hello if we cross paths. Other things to note BACK HOUSE There is a small back house on the property that is used for storage and is occasionally occupied. While you are staying at the house, you will have full access to the yard and will not have any disturbances whatsoever. STAIRS All entrances to the home include between 2-5 stairs. AIRPLANES The home is under the landing approach path for Lindbergh Field Airport so you can sit in the front or back yard and enjoy the show as planes fly almost directly overhead. You will notice some air traffic noise throughout the day but the recently-installed triple-pane windows will make the inside a quiet paradise as long as the doors/windows are closed. If it gets warm, turn on the solar-powered A/C to keep it cool and quiet. I typically set it at 74F but you are free to adjust it as you prefer. A foldable sheet of commercial jet identifiers is in the house so you can learn more about commercial jets, great for kids and adults alike, if that is something you have ever wondered about. Hint: most planes from Southwest or Alaska are Boeing 737s but you will see an occasional 787 from British Airways on its landing approach. STREET PARKING The guests can use the off-street driveway parking spot. Street sweeping is Tuesdays 8am-10am on my side of 28th street so there is no street parking during these hours (to avoid a parking ticket). Thursday from 8-10am is street sweeping on the opposite side of 28th street. If you have multiple vehicles, there is a small side street (dirt road = Russ Blvd) that has ample parking to avoid being ticketed on street-sweeping days. Registration Details STR-08337L, 627231
