The house is situated in King Ferry, New York in the heart of finger-lakes wine country with over 50 local vineyards and a few new brew pubs. Just a 10 minute drive south of picturesque Aurora, New York and 30 minutes north of Ithaca (home of Cornell University and Ithaca College) there is enough to do and see in the area to keep you busy every day, if you can drag yourself away from the lake. Ithaca, Utne Reader’s “Most Enlightened City in the US” and home of the famous Moosewood Restaurant is a vibrant community alive with art, music, theatre, museums, sporting events and festivals. The twice weekly farmers market is full of fresh local produce, ethnic foods and local art and crafts. In Aurora, dine at the historic Aurora Inn, stop at in one of the antique shops, stroll along turn-of-the-century, picture post-card streets and have homemade ice-cream at the old fashioned soda fountain. Aurora is also home of Mackenzie-Childs, for a look at their fanciful, hand-made ceramics visit their website.
