The guesthouse is located in a secluded valley within Huon with panoramic views of Grey mountain, part of Snug Tiers. It is 8 kms from Cygnet, historic town and 15 mins drive from Bruny Island Ferry. Built for sustainable living using passive solar design and strawbale infill along with local timbers such as Celery Top pine. It is a magical space where peace and tranquillity is enjoyed but with the comforts of modern living. We have Skylink for reliable Wifi and Telstra mobile coverage. The space The guest house is three bedrooms with a large living area plus a large undercover entertaining area catering for small social events such as a holiday, birthday or music event. The house is a strawbale construction retaining heat in winter and remaining cool on hot summer days. Garden development is geared to producing local products that is accessible to guests when in season and colourful flower beds. The aim is to make a comfortable but simple lifestyle for you while visiting the property especially for families wishing to explore the local attractions which are many. (see local attractions pdf ) We now cater for children under 2 and there is extensive array of toys and games for all to play and jigsaws to finish. There is an outside playground where children need to be supervised when playing on for safety reasons but otherwise lots of lawns to run around freely. Banks to roll down. The house area is fully fenced for children and animals. There many walks in the area as well as the property. Guest access This guest house is fully self-contained with a fully functioning kitchen, there is a spa bath which is available to use when tanks are full of water which is most of the time as tank capacity is 96000 litres and a large roof space to keep them filled. We have a good rainfall most of the year. Wood is available for wood heating at all times. There is a resident caretaker on site in next guest house. BBQ facilities available under enclosed entertainment area between houses to be used by guests. Laundry facilities are also available in the guest quarters with a front-loader washing machine . Other things to note This property although close to Cygnet and facilities, petrol, supermarket shopping and fresh local produce is a secluded rural retreat where you can enjoy the hills, mountains and valley surroundings in peace.
