Description

Get away from it all in a tucked away location on a magical Welsh hillside. 'Yarrow' is a quirky, cosy shepherd's hut perched on the egde of a woodland. Wake up with the birds, snuggle back down and enjoy your coffee, with the alpacas for company. You will be immersed in nature. Explore the 12 acres of organic meadowland, ancient trees and stream, swimming pond and neighbouring woodland. Yarrow is simple and rustic with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Check-in is at 4pm The space At Sylvan Spaces we try to live in harmony with our beautiful surroundings. This means trying to minimise our impact as much as possible. Yarrow has been built using many reclaimed materials, tin from our delapidated barns, and the interior is made from reclaimed pallets! Water is from a spring and electric comes mostly from our solar panels. Water goes back into the earth and we even use your number 1s and 2s to go back into the land as black gold (compost) for our medicinal forest garden! There is a double bed and two bunk beds, all with super comfy memory foam mattresses. You will find two large storage boxes on wheels, underneath the bed, where you can store your things. These double up as seats. There is a small kitchen with a sink, single induction hob, cuttlery, plates, glasses, cups, saucepan and frying pan. There is a cool box with ice packs to keep food cool. There is a woodburner to keep you cosy on cold nights. Wood is available, £10 for a basket, including firelighters, kindling and matches. Please ask if you need help starting the fire. There is a compost loo in the hut. Please sit down (including men) to use. Liquids are separated off, solids go in the back. After a number 2, please cover with a handful of sawdust. This will help it to break down into wonderful black gold. There is a separate shower hut. Just press the button on the shower head and it will automatically pump hot water. Well behaved dogs welcome. Free range animals including chickens, goats, alpacas and donkeys, so dogs to be kept on leads at all times please and pick up after them. Please don't allow dogs on beds. Please take rubbish home with you and recycle (not in our black bin) Please do ask if there is anything else you need or that we can help you with! Guest access 'Yr Allt' (The Hill), is accessed up quite a bumpy track. Low vehicles will need to be careful. About 100 yards up the track you will see a small sign saying 'Yr Allt', please turn right here and park on the flat space around to the right, to the left of the gate. Knock on the door of the white cottage and I will show you to your abode! The host's garden is private but please feel free to explore all the fields. Please be aware there are free ranging animals, and close any gates after you. Please keep dogs on leads at all times, and pick up after them. Other things to note This is a working smallholding. We try to keep things tidy, but it is a busy place and we try to keep things as natural as possible as this is better for wildlife. So expect things to be a bit on the wild rather than manicured side! We also think its more beautiful that way :) There are animals around, and whilst all our animlas are friendly, most have hooves and teeth and can sometimes be unpredictable. Please try to be quiet and calm around them, and make sure that children are always supervised. Eggs are available from our chickens £2/half dozen.
