Blue Room is in a historical Queen Anne Victorian built in 1898. Owned by artist and social worker, Tamara Diaz, Casa Bendición ("Blessing") is a welcoming place with a beautiful wrap around porch, lots of art and great energy! Like a museum, there is also a shop on the 1st floor. In the vibrant neighborhood of South Providence, you're minutes away from busses and some of the best food and culture in Rhode Island. Casa Bendición is bilingual and BIPOC and LGBTQ+ inclusive. Come see for yourself! The space Casa Bendición features two rooms (Green Room and Blue Room, both on the 2nd floor) The Blue Room's bathroom is right next door. The bathroom may be shared. The Blue Room features a balcony; a special outdoor area with a bistro table. Fans and heaters are available. On the first floor, guests will be able to browse and shop at the Tropical Soul Store. This is a great place to buy gifts and original art/products by the artist: Tamara Diaz. The kitchen and dining room are also on the first floor and guests are welcome to sit in either space or outside. There is a hammock in the yard and some comfy porch furniture that guests can enjoy. Guest access Guests will have their own room (Either the Green or Blue room) and bathroom. The Blue Room's bathroom is right Nextdoor. and might be shared. Guests are welcome to use the refrigerator in the kitchen (to store food) dining room (to sit, eat, play a game, read or talk!) and they are welcome to shop at my store "Tropical Soul" which is the gift shop on the first floor. There is also a chair in the shop where guests can sit and read or watch a new Fire TV. Guests are also welcome to sit outside on the porch chairs or at the table in the backyard. (*Please be very careful with the porch as this is an old house. Some repairs are needed so PLEASE tread lightly when you walk!!) Lastly, guests are welcome to park in the driveway. As a host, I will provide each guest with the info they need for example if there are other guests staying, I will let each guest know what to expect. So far it has worked out well! During your stay As the owner, I may or may not be here during your stay. I am very communicative whether I am here or not. I will reach out the day before or the day of your stay to find out your Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA!) If I do not receive a message back, I will most likely call to check in. My preference is to be here to greet you so I will do what I can to make that happen! If not, I will leave detailed instructions re: how to get inside and what to do. Even if I am not there, I will be available by phone. I will ask you what your plans are (not to be nosey!) for planning purposes. Because I have a dog, I need to know what to expect and so do the guests. Also, there is also a cat named Mac in the house. Aside from the dog and cat, there may be another guest or pet staying in the other guest room so I like all the guests to know what to expect (when possible) I may ask what time you usually get up and what time you expect to check out. Also the bathroom may be shared. Some guests that love historical homes and art have wanted to see my art studio and I am happy to give this private tour when requested. Lastly, I have created a guidebook with recommendations. Because there is a lot in there, you may need to take some time to look at it. If you ask me, I can also give you some more specific/quick recommendations if you tell me what you like/want. Other things to note Guests are welcome to help themselves to water, juice and/or coffee (add water and K cup to the Kurig and press the button) and Cream/sugar. Also, there are sometimes snacks on the table. There is also shampoo, soap, etc. If a guest needs something, they can ask. I like guests to feel at home. Casa Bendicion is a healing house with peaceful and creative energy. It is an inclusive space that embraces diversity and acceptance. There is a cat and a dog who live here! It is a historical home and art museum so if someone likes things perfect, spotless or they do not like pets or are a minimalist, they may prefer a hotel or an Airbnb not owned by an artist!
