A cozy one-bedroom, one-bathroom basement-type apartment in the South U neighborhood. Directly next to Ann Arbor's best natural resource, The Arb. A short walk to Good Time Charlies, Rick's, and other South U nightlife and restaurants. A 15-minute walk to the central Campus and to UofM hospital. The space Welcome to 1919 Geddes! This charming apartment is the perfect place for your A2 stay! The building at 1917-1919 Geddes Ave. was built in 1923. The building is over 3300 total sq.ft., and is divided into 7 separate apartment units. The multi-level building has 2 apartments on the upper level, 3 suites on the main level, and 2 apartments on the below-grade, walkout level. 1919 Geddes Ave is located in the South University area of Ann Arbor MI. It is steps from the Arboretum (the Arb) and is walking distance to the South U bar and restaurant district, and about a 20-min walk to Central Campus and the Diag. Apt 5 is our value unit at 1919 Geddes Ave. It is a very comfortable, naturally lit, pet-friendly, generously sized apartment; however, you definitely have the feeling that you are below ground. If you're looking for a great value, you'll find this a suitable unit, although it's not as polished as some of our other offerings. Apartment 5 is on the lowest level of the building; it is in the basement, at ground level, with natural light from the windows located throughout. The unit is a little wonky; the building has a boiler system to heat the property, so there are steam pipes running throughout the building, which is why the ceilings are lower than normal in this apartment. The ceilings are low (5’6” at lowest point), but the majority of the apartment has 6’6” ceilings. The bedroom has plenty of natural light with its 2 windows. It is furnished with a very comfortable queen-sized bed with cotton linens and a dresser, as well as a small closet area for hanging your clothing items. There is an additional twin-sized bed located in the living/dining area. There is a fully equipped kitchen available for you to use. A new stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, drip coffee maker (plus sweetener/creamer/coffee), toaster, and basic pans/utensils for making simple meals in the apartment. There is a dining table with 3 sturdy chairs for sharing meals or studying/working. The living area is full of natural light. A large leather sofa and 55” smart TV are ready for you to relax and enjoy! Because the unit is partially below ground-there is a dehumidifier in the apartment to help control the moisture within the space. We do recommend emptying the tank daily during humid days to help maintain a comfortable humidity level in the apartment. For purposes of sleeping for extra guest, the couch in the living room is not a pull out and only 1 person can fit. We can provide a blow-up mattress and linens upon request. Please note that this apartment is below other rental units; there is a potential for noise from neighbors above. We do provide earplugs in the apartment to help those who are more sensitive to noise. The apartment has a reserved parking spot behind the house - it is parking space #5. Laundry machines (located just outside of your entry door) are available to use before 11 AM and after 5 PM during your stay. The machines are free (not coin-operated), and there are detergents available to use. In the winter months, the apartment is heated by a radiator system that is centrally controlled. occasionally it may make noise, if so please notify us immediately for us to adjust it. Thank you.
