Getaway on the Catoctin

Fox Hollow Farm will give you a much-needed opportunity to hit the reset button. Hike the creek-front trails, climb the hills, picnic with a scenic overlook, stop to admire our horses, or venture out to explore the historic downtown Frederick, breweries, wineries, dairies, and orchards. If you’re a fly fisherman, we have almost a mile and a half of unspoiled Catoctin which is stocked. This is a rare setting for its proximity to historic Frederick and easy travel from Baltimore, DC, or beyond. The space The guesthouse is a private 1000 square foot apartment. Private entrance on the side of the garage with about 12 steps up to the living space. Both the door to the stairs and the apartment have key code locks you can use to come and go at your leisure. The apartment opens into a kitchenette. The sitting area has a couch/futon with a custom made extra thick cushion/mattress. Down the hall in a separate bedroom is a king sized bed with a Casper mattress, black out curtains, and dohm noise machine. The recently renovated bathroom has a well-lit single vanity, walk-in-shower with both a rainfall and handheld shower heads, and a towel warmer. The property has several miles of walking/light hiking trails with several of them along the Catoctin creek. Several mated pairs of eagles have made their nests on the property. Additionally, our closest neighbor is a state park, so keep your eyes peeled for wildlife: eagles, owls, turtles, frogs, otters, fox, turkeys etc. Guest access As a guest here, you will have access to the living space, creek, the trails, and the woods. You will have a dedicated parking spot. The main house, horse fields, fenced pastures, and barn are off limits. During warmer months, prearrange with the hosts to determine pool time and availability. Other things to note If you are traveling with a horse(s), stall or field boarding can be arranged, please reach out with further questions regarding logistics and availability. If wanting to arrange time around the pool please specify that in request (which day(s) and for the time windows desired). The pool is part of the main house but windows for use while staying with us can be arranged!
