This expansive cape style home is nestled amongst the pine trees of the lake Garda community in Farmingtn/Unionville. Located on a quiet street and close to the lake (the beach is a very short 5 min walk), enjoy nature during your stay in CT. The home is located near the bike trails, Historic Collinsville, West Hartford Center. Unionville has some great dining options for nearby eats. You can enjoy paddling on the Farmington River in Collinsville. Hospitals and schools nearby. Guests will be able to use 3 bedrooms :2 are upstairs that has a half bath to share. (I will be keeping the 3rd bedroom locked off to store my personal things). There is a third bedroom on the first floor adjacent to the full bath. The rest of the house will be yours to use which includes living room , dining room, kitchen. Keurig in kitchen- please bring k cups if you want to drink. Even though my dogs will not be present when you stay, dog do live at the home when I am there. If you are highly allergic, please don't book due to this reason. The house is also built into an embankment in the land. It sits lower than the street, there are about 7 stairs to get down to the house. The land is sloped and wooded. If you are bringing kids and or dogs that like to run, the house is only a 5 min walk to the beach and lake front. There is a flat lawn space at the lake that you can hang out or picnic at if you choose to. There is another beach that is located at the end of Colony St (where Colony and Lake Street join). This beach is the most family friendly and it is larger as far as sandy beach front. There is a parking area for cars. If anyone asks, you are my guests for the weekend.i please note: we don’t provide life vests/floaties/ water toys and there are no life guards on duty. Please plan accordingly for your stay. Guests love the house during all the seasons! Parties and events not allowed. Thank you. You will have use of the house minus the following spaces which will be locked off : one bedroom upstairs, one closet upstairs and one room in the back of the house. Washer and dryer are located in the basement (which is unfinished and where I store my things). Access to the lower deck (as seen in photos) is granted through the basement downstairs. You will also have use of full kitchen, the bathrooms (one full downstairs, one half upstairs), living, dining room and outdoor spaces. Parking is available near the flag pole on the north-east side of the house at the end of the fencing. You will see a small pull-off area from the road. There will be 2 trees close together - Park here between the trees and the house. Be careful as an embankment is there. You can also park on the street. I will be staying nearby and can be reached easily for assistance unless I am out of town during your stay. The neighborhood is a lake community where you can enjoy nature at its finest. The house is located only 5 minutes walk from one of the beaches. Beach chairs will be kept in the living room if you choose to use them. Walking the neighborhood is great. The home is located near the walking trails (about a 5 minute drive to parking area on River road). The trail leads to Collinsville or Unionville Center (depending on which direction you choose). You will need a car for this home or UBER We have basic cable in the living room tv. You can also get Netflix/prime - please login with your own account. There is a small sitting area on the second floor. The main thermostat is located in the kitchen. Heat can be adjusted there. In both of the bedrooms in the second floor there are mini splits for additional comfort. They provide additional heating and/or cooling. In the event that they are not functioning properly during the summer, window units will be provided. There is a digital lock on the front door. You will be given a personal code a few days prior to checkin. The code will only be active during your stay at The Rustic Cape. Security camera (I have 2) are located : 2 overlooking the parking area. No third party bookings. There must be someone aged 25+ staying with anyone under 25 during duration of reservation. Pets allowed- inquire within about pet fee.
