Gated and Private Catholic Hermitage house

Saint Michael Hermitage and retreat is a serene, gated, private home that is for 1-3 guests looking for a quiet stay while traveling or as a retreat destination. You will self check into your Hermitage after you obtain a gate code. There is a prayer chapel close by on the property. It is pet friendly for a well trained pet. There is Catholic iconography throughout the home. It is warm and inviting. There is a full kitchen, washer/dryer for your convenience and complementary coffee/tea. The space St. Michaels has a warm cabin feel with wood ceiling, skylights, fireplace and Catholic iconography and statuary. It was blessed by the Bishop of South Carolina. Guest access You have access to the Hermitage, the backyard of the Hermitage, the deck behind Hermitage, and the Chapel. Our farmhouse is in the back of the property and is private for the owners. The curved road that runs behind the chapel that leads to the farmhouse is also private for the owner. If you have a truck with trailer, you may turn it around in front of the Hermitage, or park in front of the Hermitage on the road. Please do not block the road so that we cannot pass. Please get permission for trailers, moving trucks etc. If it has been raining, driving on the field directly in front of hermitage can leave large ruts in the grass. Please do not drive back by the farmhouse. It is private. Thank you. Other things to note REGARDING YOUR PET(S)...MY POLICY.... I want you and your pet to have an enjoyable visit. But I insist that my hermitage be protected from your animal spraying on my bedding, pillows, furniture, etc. If you plan on bringing one or more dogs please let me know you are bringing a dog beforehand and HOW MANY dogs you have. There is a limit of 3 pets. Occasionally, there has been an abuse of my policy. This is not a kennel. My respect of your privacy does not override my right to contact Airbnb if there is a problem. + If you have a male dog who sprays, they cannot be left alone in hermitage and should be crated or put in outdoor pen. If you have a cat, male or female, they MUST be crated always while inside my hermitage. They cannot be free to wander through as cats will spray bedding and furniture. Please let me know how many pets you are bringing. + Any damages or extra cleaning incurred will be assessed and you will be responsible for these fees. If you run into any issues or difficulties or have questions please let me know at the beginning or during your stay. I desire you have the best experience with your pet here. + I take cleanliness seriously. Out of consideration for my other guests, I ask you to please be sure your pets are clean and flea free when they arrive. + I do not charge extra for your pets because I feel they are a part of your family. Please do not abuse my kindness. HERMITAGE SUPPLIES: It has come to our attention that some guests have felt free to take our supplies with them. This is stealing and it is very expensive to replace. This is not a store. The supplies are for your convenience while here only. We use our Hermitage for Clergy as well. We are now having to take inventory before and after guests leave. Any missing items or usage above what is normal for your stay, will be assessed and charged back to the guest. We keep our rates very reasonable and desire to continue to do so. SEPTIC SYSTEM: We have a septic system in the bathroom to remove water and waste. Waste DOES NOT include diapers, wipes, makeup wipes, tampons, sanitary pads, q-tips, packaging or other items. We recently had a septic failure that cost us thousands to repair. These issues are financially breaking us. Please take care of the beautiful home we share with you. Regarding TV/USAGE at the hermitage while on this property. We have a data plan to be aware of. Please pay attention while streaming your devices to your data usage. We should have plenty of monthly data if guests usage is reasonable. .....There are family channels on Roku TV and family DVD's that can be viewed. This is a blessed space. No one is allowed to upload or view while staying here any type of pornography, on the TV's or your devices, or overtly violent or sexual content. If violated, it will be reported. Please do not load any apps on our tv's. Thank you. CLEAN UP: We partner with you to clean up. We do not charge a cleaning fee and expect the following from our guests: It is the guests responsibility to wash all your dishes by either washing by hand or putting and running the dishwasher. Do not leave your food in the sink. Put back all items where you found them at your arrival including pillows, blankets, remotes, furniture, dishes, etc. It is the hosts responsibility to wash the sheets, towels and clean the hermitage. We should not have to put back our home. Guests who do not respect this will be incurred a cleaning fee commensurate to the time we have to spend.
