Welcome to The Sunrise Cabin, your Up North Retreat! The lakefront cabin is the perfect spot to gather for sunrises over the lake. Spend your days fishing and your nights cooking over fire pit under the italian lights. Work remote with high speed internet (new summer 2024). Reconnect over a foosball or ping ping game. Queen bed, four twins, and three cots give room for all. Dog bed, pet bowls, and large yard make the cabin a vacation for the pups as well. Two kayaks and two boats included. The space The cabin has an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. The large picture window and sliding glass door give great views of the lake and the trees surrounding the property. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances with a gas range. The master bedroom has a queen bed with down comforter. The smaller bedroom has a twin daybed great for curling up with a book while you take in the lakeview. The large bathroom has a tile shower, tile floors, and oversized vanity. The entire downstairs has waterproof flooring excellent for pets and kids. The upstairs has a large loft with an oversized beanbag chair (5 ft wide) and three twin beds. The loft also has a 43 Roku TV with DVD player and board games. The unfinished basement is equipped with a mid-sized ping pong table, foosball table, two recliners, and a full-sized futon. The foosball table can be converted into 10 other games (table hockey, bowling, pool, etc.). A foldable pop-up cornhole set is also provided. Off the front of the house is a covered porch with a large chair and chaise that overlook the lake. It's a great place to enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the loons. The front yard has a fire pit made for cooking with four plastic adriondack chairs and a Weber charcoal grill. Please note we do not provide firewood or charcoal. At night, enjoy the Italian lights that connect the two decks and weave through the woods. Next to the shed are the steps down to the lake and dock. The upper dock has two adriondack chairs and a beautiful view of the bay. The lower dock is close to the water making it easy to get in and out of boats. Explore the lake using one of the provide kayaks or row boats or bring your own kayak/canoe to explore the lake. The lake is private so it does not have a public ramp; however, the cabin is surrounded by pubic lakes. - Lost Lake is a mile up the road. - Lake May is 1.5 miles down from the house, and it has a pubic beach. - Lake Nettie, a large all sports lake, is 2 miles up the road. You could explore a new lake each day. Other nearby activities/day trips: - Ocqueoc Falls is just 13 miles away. Great place to spend the day swimming in the falls. Icy and beautiful in the winter. - Grab a coffee in Roger City about 25 minutes from the cabin then drive along M23 to enjoy the Lake Huron coast and visit 40 Mile Lighthouse. End the trip in Cheybogan with a walk along the river front. - Drive M23 south to take in the coast of Grand Lake. Turn east to see the Presque Isle Lighthouse. - An hour trip gets you to the Mackinaw Bridge. Explore the waterfront of Mackinaw City then take the ferry to Mackinaw Island where you can rent a bike to explore. The home has a neighbor on each side, one is about 60 ft away and the other is about 200 ft away. Pets stay for free! Guest access The cabin sits on a large wooded one acre lot with room for your ATV or snowmobile. The North Eastern State Trail is close by along with numerous other dirt roads for you to explore. Other things to note Cabin sits high on the hill above a small bay with an island. You exit the bay through a canal then the private lake opens up. Water is crystal clear! You can watch the blue gills, bass, and perch swim by the dock. Lake is around 10 feet deep, but the area in front of the cabin is around 3 ft. Great fishing especially for bass! Beautiful leaves in the fall, and ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter. Despite the remote location, the home has high speed wireless internet. We have spotty cell service, but you can connect to the Wi-Fi once you arrive for calls. Plan to take all trash home with you as trash pick up is unavailable. Local drop off at nearby gas station available. They charge a small per bag fee.
