Spruce Lodge - Honeymoon
Experience serenity on the northern shore of Lower Sysladobsis Lake. At Spruce Lodge you will watch the sun rise and set in breathtaking colors, relax by the water, fish on the lake, watch eagles soar, laugh with friends around the camp fire, and fall asleep to the sound of loons. Families and friends return year after year to carry on the tradition of their summer vacations, yearly fishing trips, and hunting adventures. Memories and friendships to last a lifetime are made here. The space This new construction lakefront cabin offers a true Maine "Upta Camp" experience with modern amenities. You’ll enjoy your morning coffee, an afternoon of puzzling, or star gazing on the large screened porch which provides an open view of the lake. Walk out the front door right onto your private dock to enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, or sunbathing. The first floor has an open concept living area with a fully equipped kitchen and a sitting/dining area, bedroom with (1) queen bed, and bathroom. The kitchen has a refrigerator, gas stove with air fryer feature, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, and all necessary cookware and dishes including utensils. The second floor offers a master bedroom with (1) queen bed overlooking the lake, a great room with comfortable seating including a full size futon, and a 'nook' with (1) twin bed. Linens and towels are provided for your convenience. There is a firepit and picnic table. One stack of firewood and a gas grill with propane are included with rental. Additional firewood may be purchased. Kayaks and canoes are available for day use on the lake free of charge. Motor boats are available for a daily rate of $75 (14' V-hull with 8 hp Honda motor). Well behaved dogs are welcomed. Guest access If you’re interested in exploring outside of the lodge, there are several options within just a few miles, as well as short day trips. Almanac Mountain is just a few miles away, and a short hike will reward you with sensational views spring, summer, and fall. Dobsy Stream is the “local swimming hole.” Roughly 2 miles from the Lodge, visitors can enjoy an afternoon in the “pool” and a picnic lunch. The Springfield Fairgrounds has many events scheduled throughout the summer. Baxter State Park / Mount Katahdin is roughly a 90 minute drive. Debsconeag Ice Caves are located just south of Baxter State Park in the shadow of Mount Katahdin (approx. 90 minute drive). The Debsconeag Lakes Wilderness Area contains the highest concentration of pristine, remote ponds in New England, as well as thousands of acres of mature forests. For those who enjoy golfing, Jato Highlands is located in Lincoln. Take a day trip and visit the West Quoddy Headlight, the easternmost point on the United States mainland (about 2.25 hour drive one way). There are hundreds of miles of trails and dirt roads for ATV adventures, many accessible directly from the Lodge.
