Stay the night on the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River nestled on 2 private acres in a vintage Shasta camper! Enjoy complimentary use of kayaks or paddleboards! Awesome river and nature views. Quiet, relaxing and serene! 40 min from St. Louis, 25 min from St. Charles! Mins from Grafton Ferry! 4 miles from the Katy Trailhead at Machens! The space If you love being near water, if you're a naturist, or just want a relaxing and peaceful getaway, this is for you! To be clear, this is not "glamping", but instead primitive camping. This is an awesome, classic 1966 Shasta Camper! Sleep inside a part of Americana history! No consumable water on grounds, no electric inside camper, just back to basics fun :) You may charge your electronics at the outlets near the cabin/commons area. Bathroom and outdoor shower near cabin/commons area (hot water available). Additional outhouse on property. Comfy full-size memory foam mattress. Shared use between all guests. Other things to note * We are an ADULTS ONLY property * Weekends and holidays can sometimes be bustling at our camp. There is the potential that you'll share the campground with other guests at different accommodations. Book Sunday-Thursday if you are looking for a quieter, more private, and secluded stay. * Please be mindful that the closest gas station and grocery store are 15 minutes away. Plan ahead. * We now spray for mosquito prevention! During the summer months, bring some bug spray, citronella candles, sunscreen, shower essentials, bottled water, and whichever necessities you need for your camping stay! IMPORTANT: - This is just like camping without a tent, but much more awesome! - Bring all the items necessary for your stay. This is camping. We provide bedding and chairs for outside. There is a firepit outside your Shasta. We may have some dry/seasoned wood available at the time of your stay, but you are welcome to bring some, in case not. - Items inside the camper such as the stove, refrigerator, or electric hookups are NOT operable. - There will be bugs, and there will be some mosquitos (factors out of our control). Did we mention the river is right there? (We have a mosquito control service now!) - Antique/vintage does not = not clean AS OF NOW: UBER/LYFT will drop you off in Portage Des Sioux, but you CANNOT order an UBER/LYFT to get out of Portage. Those services will NOT come pick you up here! Plan ahead if you will not have a vehicle.
