Situated in Stirlings old town and a short walk to the Castle, The Jail, the HolyRude Church and other places of historical interest.The Smithy is also centrally placed for the town centre, bus and train stations. As the name suggests the building was a blacksmiths house and workshop during the 16th Century when King James VI was resident in Stirling. Prior to this it is said that the building was the Port Customs house in 1420. More recently the building was a public house for 160 years. The space Historic building on the north side of the Castle within the Old Town boundary. We are fully licenced by the Local Authority and are restricted to letting one double room for two persons only. The property is on multiple levels with two sets of wide stairs between floors so is not suitable for people with mobility issues. The house has an open plan format with the guest room on the 1st floor looking out over the frontage where there is roadside car parking. Parking is chargeable between 8.30am and 5.30pm. Guest access Guests have the use of the reception area on entering the property. This is also where breakfasts are served. During your stay I will be led by the guests in regard to interaction. Other things to note As the house is an older property on multiple levels with numerous hazards, including a small dog, we are not set up to accommodate very small children. In addition we do not have cots, highchairs etc.
