Living in Cliff Cottage is like being in a tree house overlooking Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains. The spectacular panoramic lake views are of one of the most beautiful spots on Lake George -the Waltonian Islands and Island Harbor. Our family began visiting Lake George over 25 years ago first as renters and now as homeowners of the cottage. If this is your first visit to Lake George, we guarantee you will be captivated by its beauty. For returning visitors, we look forward to sharing our mutual love of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains with you. Cliff Cottage is a rare find...a vintage Lake George cottage with newer amenities, such as a new full bathroom in the master bedroom, and new windows. There is still LOTS of unique charm! Cliff Cottage is directly across Lakeshore Drive from Lake George, overlooking the lake and featuring a screened porch and 3 decks, all with breathtaking views of Lake George, 'The Queen of American Lakes.' Cliff Cottage does not have direct lake access. Swimming and lake access is via the Hague Public Beach, approximately 1 mile away. The lakefront across from the Cottage is private property. There is a nearby marina if you wish to rent a power boat, canoe or kayaks. Rogers Rock State Park is a short drive away, and has a beautiful beach and picnic area. The first floor features a screened porch, living/dining room, new kitchen for 2019, bathroom with tub/shower, and two bedrooms, one bedroom having a private 1/2 bath. 1st floor features: The Screened Porch has floor to ceiling screens on 3 sides, providing a miles long panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Both sides of the porch open to decks on either side of the house. The porch has comfortable chairs, a dining table and a sofa/twins day bed. In the morning you can watch the sunrise and in the evening relax to the moonrise and starry skies. The decks have lots of outdoor furniture, picnic table with umbrella, and gas grill. The living room has large french doors opening to the screened porch. Walking into the house from the back door and looking out to the screened porch and the Lake George beyond is an incredible sight. The living room is open to the dining area. One bedroom has two twin beds. This bedroom opens to the outside porch and has beautiful lake views. The second downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a private 1/2 bath. There are air conditioners in the bedrooms and main floor living area. A new kitchen with all new appliances is new to the cottage for 2019. A microwave and full supply of cook and table ware are also available. 2nd Floor Features: The second floor features the master bedroom. This large room has a queen bed, additional twin bed, and a wall full of windows overlooking the Lake. Also a spacious new full bath with a large shower was built just a few years ago. There is tv in this room. The back of the house is on the edge of a woodland area with hiking trails. There is a parking area and a circular drive behind the house. The cottage is approximately 1 mile from the center of Hague, with the Hague Public Beach, Boat Launch, New Hague Market, Fishing Pier, Post Office and Firehouse Restaurant/Bar. Cliff Cottage has a cozy 'summer at the lake' feeling and is the perfect spot for taking a break from today's hectic life. Relax and enjoy the splendor of Lake George and the Adirondacks while making Cliff Cottage your vacation home away from home. Ticonderoga is ten miles north, with additional shopping, banks, gas stations, etc. The ferry to Vermont is located in Ticonderoga. To the south is Bolton Landing, with additional restaurants, shopping, etc. Lake George Village is approx. 45 minutes away, and is the spot for vacation entertainment such as Great Escape Theme Park, Water Slide World, etc. Other amenities: Cable TV in living area and master bedroom. High speed WIFI Gas Grill Quoted rates are for a 'housekeeping unit' meaning that there is no daily maid service. Tenants are asked to bring their own sheets and towels. Plenty of pillows and blankets are available. Linen/towel service may be arranged if desired, or if you will be flying instead of driving. There is no washer, but laundry service is available if requested. A laundromat is located in Ticonderoga, where you will also find groceries, gas, banks, and other services. Parking is provided for two vehicles. If you need more space for additional vehicles please let us know and we will gladly make arrangements. No RV parking is allowed. No trailers. There is no smoking inside the building. No pets please. The hamlet of Hague is a quaint, lovely Adirondack village. Hague attractions/amenities include: The NEW Hague Market, which is the 'The Oldest General Store in the Adirondacks', The Hague Market is a great spot for coffee, baked goods, basic groceries, and prepared foods and meals. There market features an emphasis on local, natural, and organic food. The Hague Public Beach and Boat Launch with lifeguard and children's playground. Firehouse Bar/Restaurant: Locally owned and a favorite gathering spot for locals, summer residents and tourists. Other highlights include the Hague waterfall, Hague Brook, 'Peggy's Point' Lake George Land Conservancy Park, Old Steamship Dock fishing pier, Hiking Trails and 3 Churches. Other restaurants and businesses are located in nearby Ticonderoga. The busy tourist town of Lake George Village is 45 minutes away. Here you will find scenic boat tours, Great Escape Theme Park, Waterslide World, Outlet Shopping, and more. Historic Fort Ticonderoga, Saratoga, Lake Placid, and Vermont are all easy drives away. There is an Amtrak Railroad station in Ticonderoga, with daily service to New York City. If you need transportation to the train station we can provide it for you. Our Lake George rental offers a three season paradise! Spend the summer on the lake swimming, boating, and water-skiing. Fish for Bass, Lake Trout and Landlocked Salmon. Enjoy spectacular fall foliage. History, scenery, hiking, art, antiquing, museums and shopping are all nearby, while you enjoy the peace and serenity of the Adirondack Mountains. We are one hour north of Saratoga, famous for horse racing. Ticonderoga is 10 miles away, with Fort Ticonderoga and access to Lake Champlain. Vermont is a scenic ferry boat ride away! Guest access Cliff Cottage is a private home. Access to Cliff Cottage is via car along a short dirt road. Please obtain specific directions! Interaction with guests Friendly local owners and their property manager are close by to insure a great stay. Your privacy is maintained, with the peace of mind of knowing your questions and concerns will be addressed in a timely manner. Other things to note Cliff Cottage is not directly on Lake George. It is across the street with spectacular views from an amazing screened porch and sprawling decks. Lake access is via Hague Public Beach or other public areas. Property across the street from Cliff Cottage is private property.
