Description

Thoughtful A-frame cabin, where creativity takes form. Dr. Seuss collection, games from 5 continents (Persian chess, Nordic Labyrinth, German Codebreaker). Swedish-designed shower. Loft arcade. Hot springs 5-min walk. Massage available. Remineralized water. Every detail tells a story. The space ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE Step into a 1960s A-frame that's part cultural museum, arcade and Nordic wellness retreat. Every detail has a story. Every piece has provenance. THE STEVE JOBS TRIBUTE Our custom Pong arcade console is mounted in a handcrafted Indian metal bowl—representing Jobs' 1972-1975 arc from Atari engineer to spiritual seeker in India. This piece alone tells you everything about our approach: thoughtful, intentional, story-driven. THE CREATIVE INTELLIGENCE COLLECTION We believe creativity takes many forms. Most places stimulate one type of intelligence. We activate all of them. → LINGUISTIC CREATIVITY Complete Dr. Seuss collection. Why Seuss? Because the man who taught millions to read using only 236 words (Cat in the Hat) proved that creative constraints breed innovation. Your kids will discover linguistic rebellion through rhyme. → LOGICAL CREATIVITY Strategic thinking games from five continents, spanning 2,000 years: - Magnetic chess (India/Persia—where chess was born) - Codebreaker (France/Germany—information theory, cryptography) - Shut the Box (France/Norway/Germany—probability, mathematics) Each game teaches a different aspect of strategic thinking. This isn't entertainment—it's cognitive activation through play. → SPATIAL CREATIVITY - Klask (Denmark—magnetic disk dexterity) - Labyrinth (Sweden—spatial reasoning) - Arcade Legends 2 (full-size commercial cabinet, 60+ classic games) - Loft arcade: Dig Dug, Tempest, Joust (¾-scale cabinets) - Xbox 360 library → PHYSICAL REJUVENATION - Hot springs pool at Terrace Lakes Resort (2-minute walk, year-round) - Professional massage therapy (onsite, by appointment) - Remineralized reverse osmosis water throughout - Tubing hill across the street (winter) THE DESIGN STORY That kitchen counter? Reclaimed from a Seattle coffee shop. The staircase? Salvaged mahogany from a library. The shower? Designed with Nordic bathing rituals in mind—because Scandinavians understand that water isn't just functional, it's meditative. WHAT YOU'LL FIND MAIN FLOOR: - Living room with Arcade Legends 2 (60+ games), Xbox 360, Smart TV - Full kitchen with reclaimed Seattle counter, reverse osmosis water - Bedroom 1: King bed configuration - Swedish shower bathroom - Dining area with library mahogany staircase - Strategic games library from 5 continents - Dr. Seuss complete collection - Board games and international game collection LOFT: - Bedroom 2: King bed + 3 singles (flexible configurations) - Arcade zone: Dig Dug, Tempest, Joust cabinets - Custom Pong in Indian bowl (the Jobs tribute) OUTDOOR: - Golf course views (snowshoe in winter, walk in summer) - Deck with forest setting - Three parking spaces (overflow at resort) - 2-minute walk to hot springs pool, restaurant COMFORT: - Fast WiFi (remote work-ready) - Multiple Smart TVs - Portable A/C units (summer) - Propane heat (winter) - Blackout window treatments - All linens, towels provided - Flexible bedding configurations THE WELLNESS EXPERIENCE → Hot Springs: Terrace Lakes Resort's year-round geothermal pool. Your body will thank you. → Nature Immersion: Forest setting, golf course access, hiking trails, river activities nearby. AFTER YOU BOOK We send a curated activity guide featuring: - Kirkham Hot Springs (cliff jumping, natural pools) - White water rafting (Payette River) - Mountain biking (world-class trails) - Fly fishing, elk hunts, survival school experiences - Seasonal recommendations We've done the research. You just show up. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Maximum 8 guests. Bedding tailored to your reservation: - Bedroom 1 (main floor): 1 king bed - Bedroom 2 (loft): 1 king bed + 3 single beds (flexible configurations) - Sofa beds available if needed After 2 guests: $20/person/night WHO THIS IS FOR → Design-conscious travelers who appreciate provenance and storytelling → Families wanting screenless fun that's actually educational → Couples seeking romantic seclusion + wellness experiences → Friend groups looking for basecamp + epic arcade tournaments → Remote workers needing peaceful productivity + hot springs recovery → Anyone tired of generic vacation rentals If you value experiences over stuff, stories over amenities, and curation over convenience—this is your place. THE VIBE Kid's ask why chess comes from Persia, whether they can beat your Tempest high score, if they can read Fox in Socks faster than you, and what 'information theory' means. Adults rediscover focus. They play Codebreaker, soak in hot springs, book massage appointments, and finally read that 'biography' while their coffee cools on a Seattle coffee shop counter. HOUSE RULES - Maximum 8 guests ($20/person/night after 2 guests) - No unregistered visitors or guests - Guests 16+ must provide state-issued ID at check-in (safety) - No smoking anywhere on property - No parties or events - Respect quiet hours (10pm-8am) - Two parking spaces at cabin, overflow at resort - Exterior security cameras monitor entry area only WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT Airbnb's have amenities. We have a philosophy. This is years of collecting physical expressions of human creativity: Dr. Seuss's linguistic rebellion. Persian strategic logic. Jobs' spiritual-technical synthesis. Nordic wellness culture. 2,000 years of ingenuity, five continents, one curated space. Accessing a creative intelligence laboratory disguised as a mountain retreat. LOCATION CONTEXT Garden Valley, Idaho—60 minutes from Boise. Year-round access. Terrace Lakes Resort offers golf, hot springs, restaurant. We're surrounded by wilderness but not isolated. Cell service works. WiFi is fast. You can work remotely or disconnect completely. Winter: Snowshoeing, tubing hill across street, hot springs in snow Spring/Fall: Hiking, mountain biking, peaceful shoulder season Summer: River activities, cliff jumping, golf course walks, arcade in A/C READY? If you've read this far, you get it. This isn't about thread count or smart home features. It's about whether you want your kids to remember the trip they learned Codebreaker, understood why Jobs went to India, and discovered something new about themselves. Book the dates. Pack light. Bring curiosity. The arcade battles, hot springs soaks, Swedish showers, and strategic game tournaments are waiting. Welcome to MIN STUGÄ. Guest access GUEST ACCESS ARRIVAL Self check-in via smart lock (detailed instructions sent after booking). Pull up, unlock, unwind. Check-in: 4:00 PM | Check-out: 11:00 AM PARKING Three spaces at the cabin. Overflow parking at Terrace Lakes Resort (2-minute walk). WHAT'S YOURS The entire cabin, deck, gaming collection, strategic games library, and Dr. Seuss books are all yours. Hot springs pool and restaurant at the resort are a short walk (small fees apply). HOUSE EXPECTATIONS We accommodate up to 8 guests with flexible bedding. If your group size changes, just update your reservation—we're happy to adjust. For security, guests 16+ need state-issued ID at check-in. We have exterior cameras monitoring entry/parking areas only. QUESTIONS? We're local and quick to respond. Message anytime through Airbnb. Other things to note BEFORE YOU ARRIVE Once you book, we'll send: - Smart lock codes and check-in details - Our curated Garden Valley activity guide (hiking, rafting, hot springs, restaurants) - Massage therapist contact info (book early—weekends fill fast) - Seasonal tips based on your travel dates - WiFi password and parking instructions Pro tip: If you want onsite massage during your stay, reach out to the therapist as soon as you book. She's popular and schedules fill quickly, especially summer weekends and winter holidays. THE GAMING COLLECTION All arcade games are fully functional and meant to be played—go for it. - Arcade Legends 2 (main floor): 60+ classic games including Pac-Man, Galaga, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Asteroids - Loft arcade cabinets: Dig Dug, Tempest, Joust (¾-scale) - Custom Pong console in Indian metal bowl: Playable, but please handle with care—it's a functional art piece honoring Steve Jobs's Atari-to-India journey - Xbox 360: Game library provided, or bring your own favorites - Strategic board games: Meant to be used—we encourage it The Dr. Seuss collection and international games are all fair game too. We want you to actually engage with the collection, not tiptoe around it. HOT SPRINGS POOL (IMPORTANT) The Terrace Lakes Resort hot springs pool is NOT included in your Airbnb reservation—it's a separate resort amenity with a small daily fee (typically $10-15 per person, pay at resort office). Hours vary by season. The pool is geothermal, heated year-round, and absolutely worth the fee. You can literally see the steam rising from our back cabin window. The resort also has a restaurant and bar (walking distance, separate charges). You're staying at our private cabin ON the resort property—you have access to resort amenities by paying their fees directly. WATER & PLUMBING We have a remineralized reverse osmosis water system in the kitchen. It tastes noticeably cleaner and crisper than standard tap water. Plumbing note: We're on a cabin septic system. Please only flush toilet paper (no wipes, feminine products, or paper towels). Be mindful of water usage. The system works great when treated respectfully. THE SWEDISH SHOWER Our 2026 shower remodel was designed by Swedish creative Ryan Benson, inspired by sauna culture. You'll notice: - Bamboo ridge fluted tile (texture + visual warmth) - Black hexagon flooring (grounding, spa-like) - Diffused lighting (mimics Nordic bathing rituals) This isn't a standard cabin bathroom. Take your time. Enjoy the experience. It's designed for mindful unwinding. SEASONAL CONSIDERATIONS WINTER (December-March): - Roads are maintained, but this is mountain driving—4WD/AWD strongly recommended - Bring warm layers, winter boots, and snow gear - Tubing hill is directly across the street (small admission fee, equipment rental available) - Snowshoeing the golf course is magical and free - Hot springs in falling snow is an unforgettable experience - Propane heat keeps the cabin cozy; portable heaters in bedrooms if needed SUMMER (June-August): - Portable A/C units keep main floor and loft comfortable (it gets warm in an A-frame) - Book early—summer weekends fill fast - River activities peak in July (rafting, kayaking) - Hot springs less crowded on weekday mornings - Golf course open for play (fees at resort) SPRING/FALL (April-May, September-November): - Shoulder season = fewer crowds, better availability, ideal weather - Perfect for remote work (fast WiFi, peaceful setting, massage breaks) - Best hiking/biking temperatures - Hot springs practically to yourself mid-week - Most photogenic seasons (fall colors, spring blooms) PARKING & ROAD ACCESS Three dedicated parking spaces at the cabin. Overflow parking at Terrace Lakes Resort office (2-minute walk). Year-round access—roads are maintained. Standard vehicles fine in summer/fall. Winter requires 4WD/AWD and mountain driving confidence. GPS works. Cell service is solid (Verizon and AT&T confirmed). ID VERIFICATION & SECURITY We have exterior security cameras monitoring the cabin entry area and parking spaces only. No interior cameras. No cameras in private spaces. This is for property security and your safety. REMOTE WORK SETUP WiFi is fast and reliable (suitable for Zoom calls, file uploads, streaming). GROCERY & SUPPLIES Closest full grocery store: Crouch (15 minutes) or Horseshoe Bend (25 minutes) Boise (1 hour): Full shopping, Costco, Whole Foods, Target, etc. We recommend stocking up in Boise on your way in. The cabin has a full kitchen—cooking here is part of the experience (especially with that Seattle coffee shop counter). Small convenience items available at Terrace Lakes Resort office. EMERGENCY CONTACTS For true emergencies (medical, fire, safety): Call 911 first, then message us For property issues (plumbing, heating, locked out): Message us immediately—we're local and can respond quickly For questions (recommendations, hot springs hours, game rules): Message us anytime through Airbnb app FINAL THOUGHTS We've spent years curating this space. Every game has a story. Every design choice has intention. The custom Pong console, the Swedish shower, the international game collection, the reclaimed materials—none of it is random. If something seems unusual, there's probably a reason. Ask us about it. We love sharing the stories. And if you discover something new about the space that we haven't mentioned—let us know. This cabin reveals itself slowly to those who pay attention. Questions before booking? Message us. Questions during your stay? We're here. Enjoy the experience. Play hard. Think deeply. Rejuvenate fully. — Joey & Liam
