“Hermits Cove” is the perfect beach house getaway for the whole family. Lake Superior, white sand, a sauna, and kayaks are just steps from the front door of this fully updated home on a peaceful, private beach; to say nothing of the Huron Mountain views! Located in the heart of the Keweenaw, Hermits Cove is a short drive to Copper Harbor, Houghton, and all the fun adventures the Copper Country has to offer; but most guests find the amenities, charm, and gentle waves hard to leave behind. The space Hermits Cove is a beautifully updated beach home. On the main floor, an open kitchen with all new appliances (including a dishwasher) overlooks the yard and beach. There is a spacious living and dining area that spills out onto a cozy screen porch for gathering and playing games. There are 2 cozy bedrooms with queen beds on the main floor, and a full bathroom. There is no tub on this property but there are two showers. The second floor has an open concept, airy floor plan with a vaulted ceiling and views of the whole property. There is a bright sitting area with a library and dedicated workspace. A king bed with a TV and coffee bar steps out onto a shaded balcony, and a set of twin bunks is tucked away in a snug corner of the room. There is also a large, updated 1/2 bath (no shower). Outside, a wrap around porch with a gas grill overlooks the sunny yard and beach. There is a firepit, outdoor seating, and yard games. Kayaks are available for rent for the duration of your stay, and firewood is conveniently available on site for purchase (or bring your own). The sauna is right on the beach for that authentic U.P. experience. It has a convenient changing room and wash room (shower and sink). A covered porch with seating, a dining table, a foot washing station, and a hammock steps out onto the beach and is the perfect spot to serve a casual lunch, play cards, or enjoy a shady nap by the waves. Guest access The entire property is available to our guests with the exception of the garage and storage shed.
