Description
Huska Creek Cabin - featured in Vogue, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Architectural Digest & Cabin Porn - a special one-of-a-kind escape set on 6.5 acres of pristine Catskills woodland. Enjoy your own private creek, mountain views & open meadow. Staying here feels magical. We’re tiny - but elevated. Immerse in nature & fully switch off while staying connected with strong WiFi. The cabin is just minutes from Andes & Delhi, with boutiques, coffee shops and great places to eat. The space A place to disconnect - whilst staying connected. We’ve stayed in hundreds of Airbnbs (many in the Catskills), and nothing compares to the feeling at Huska Creek Cabin. It’s hard to describe - but people feel it the moment they arrive. Huska Creek Cabin is one of the only remaining ‘bolt-together’ houses from the 1970s, designed by architect Jeffrey Milstein. These iconic cabins have been featured widely in design books and publications, and we’ve carefully restored it to preserve that legacy while making it comfortable for modern living. We lived in London and Brooklyn for years, so while this is a true woodland escape, we’ve made sure it has all the comforts you’d want - including strong WiFi for remote working. Highlights: - A unique designer cabin set on 6.5 private acres with woodland, meadow & creek - Private creek right next to the cabin — fall asleep to the sound of water - Endless mountain views on private meadow - Huge picture window + panoramic deck submerged in forest - Complete privacy — no direct neighbours, just woodland (and the occasional horse!) - Fast, reliable WiFi (works on the deck too) - ideal for remote work - Under 10 minutes to Andes & Delhi (coffee, restaurants, shops, farmers market) - Fully heated cabin - warm and cosy in winter, no wood fire hassle - Outdoor space with BBQ, fire pit + large private meadow The space: The cabin is small but incredibly well thought through - every inch designed to feel considered, calm and beautiful. - Loft bedroom with natural light, views + star-gazing from bed - Stylish bathroom with powerful hot shower - Fully equipped kitchen with carefully curated design details - Sunroom with 360° views - perfect for reading, working or a glass of wine - Projector + screen for movie nights, plus record player + smart speaker The experience: This is the kind of place where you... - Wake up to the sound of the creek - Drink coffee on the deck overlooking the trees - Paddle in the creek or lie in the meadow - Watch the stars with zero light pollution - Fully switch off - or work peacefully in nature A bit of history: We found Huska Creek Cabin as a shell and spent 18 months restoring it. It was once owned by a New York playwright as a writing retreat and featured in design magazines in the 70s - it still carries that creative, slightly magical energy. We truly believe a space doesn’t need to be big to feel special - just thoughtfully designed. Huska Creek Cabin is small, but every detail has been considered. Amenities: Fast WiFi (great for Zoom, streaming, remote work) Central heating Hot shower Fully equipped kitchen Projector + Chromecast + large screen Smart speaker + record player Queen bed with high-end linens What makes Huska Creek Cabin truly unique is the setting, total privacy, nature all around, and a space that makes you slow down. No pets / not suitable for children / not wheelchair accessible IG: @huskacreekcabin NOTE: We’ve just launched our larger sister property, Fern Forest Cabin (2 bed, 360 views, A/C & tub) - perfect if you love Huska but need more space. *'Fern and Creek Catskills' (page) also has more information on the local area and tip - please check that out* Guest access The entire cabin and 6.5 acres are yours to enjoy. You will hear only the creek and wildlife and will not be disturbed. There is a private gravel driveway that cuts through the meadow so you can park directly above the entrance to the cabin. Our property manager will co-ordinate check in and will be on hand if need be. Other things to note We’ve built 'Fern and Creek Catskills' as a space to share our favorite hidden spots, local recommendations, and a more in-depth guide to the area for those who like to really get a feel for a place before visiting...'Fern and Creek Catskills'. Huska Creek Cabin is a tiny house. As the cabin is very unique and is situated next to the creek we had to think out of the box with some things. We have a top of the range waterless toilet. We did not want to pollute the landscape so went with an alternative that is super easy to use. The loft bedroom is one of our favorite things about the cabin as you get a full 360 view of the forest and sounds of the creek. Just note that the loft is accessible only via ladder (see pictures). The cabin is accessible via a wooden staircase from the meadow (see pictures) so we ask you to please take care when entering, especially during the winter months. We do not have a TV in the old school sense (we think TVs ruin the vibe as distract from the views / decor) but have a projector and huge 100 inch screen, fully equipped with Chromecast TV The BBQ is available to use all year around and is a charcoal BBQ. The outdoor fire (solo stove) and fire pit on the meadow are available for use all year around. Please bring your own firewood. You can get this from Delhi (the gas station, Price Chopper, Tractor Supply and many other places) - just a 7 minute drive away : ) We’ve built 'Fern and Creek Catskills' as a space to share our favorite hidden spots, local recommendations, and a more in-depth guide to the area for those who like to really get a feel for a place before visiting...'Fern and Creek Catskills'.
