The space ————————————————— PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ ALL THE INFORMATION TO AVOID SURPRISES ————————————————— We occasionally rent our house to share the pleasure of the Normandy countryside and to help us finance its maintenance and renovation. It is not a furnished tourist accommodation, but the house where we live. You will find all the necessary comforts and amenities, as well as some personal belongings that we ask you to respect (in the fridge, kitchen, books and magazines, etc.). ***** The house is provided to you clean (our housekeeper has been through) and we ask you to return the house as you found it. Clean floors, toilets and bathrooms cleaned, garbage cans emptied and taken away, dishes tidied. Vacuum cleaner, brooms and household products are at your disposal.***** The house is located in the countryside of Pays de Caux, 25 minutes from the beaches, and less than an hour from Rouen, Le Havre, Honfleur or Etretat. It has stunning views of a meadow, where you can admire the Norman cows, and a wood, where hopefully you can observe deer and fawns. The house consists of 2 levels. The ground floor has been completely renovated: - equipped kitchen: Smeg stove and fridge, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso, many kitchen utensils - living room with fireplace, large oak dining table - 1 separate toilet - 1 master suite with en-suite bathroom (shower) Upstairs: - 2 bedrooms, one with meadow and wood views - 1 bathroom (bathtub) - 1 separate toilet The bedrooms have kept their 70s floral wallpaper. The floor has been covered with parquet, and the bathroom is completely renovated. We provide garden furniture with table and armchairs, barbecue and brazier to enjoy the outdoors. For fun, you will find a ping pong table and many board games. Wi-Fi (500 Mbps fiber) at your disposal ————————————————— NOTES AND CAVEATS ————————————————— - The house is maintained and cleaned regularly but it is a country house. Despite all our efforts, you may find some cobwebs, small insects or flies. Sensitive city dwellers, refrain. - BED LINENS, TOWELS AND HOUSE LINENS ARE NOT PROVIDED. The beds are all double (140 x 190), duvet cover (220 x 240) and fitted sheet (140 x 190) - As we live in the house, we leave everything necessary for cooking and cleaning (oil, salt, pepper, flour, pasta, rice, sponge, household products, dishwasher tablets etc.). If you need them, you can use them. But if you finish something, we ask that you replace it. - Warning! It is not possible to connect an electric car for recharging to our electrical system. This could cause a short circuit (unsuitable electrical panel) and a fire. Our neighbor Guy will welcome you and perform an inventory upon departure. ————————————————— GOOD PLANS AND GOOD ADDRESSES ————————————————— Here is a small selection. Markets: - Doudeville (5 min), market every Saturday morning. Food shops, bakery and supermarket. - Many other markets in the area in Cany Barville, Luneray or Yvetot - Oysters at the producer in Veules-les-Roses, fish directly from fishermen in St-Valery-en-Caux Sports: - Tennis in Veules-les-Roses in a beautiful outdoor setting - Arnouville Golf Course, including a compact 9-hole course accessible to all - Hobby cat catamaran rental in Veules-les-Roses - Bike rental in Veulettes-sur-mer to ride along the Durdent (river) - Tree climbing in Angiens - Bowling and swimming pool in Yvetot Activities: - Walk about 2.5 hours (very easy) to Veulettes-sur-mer in a very nice setting. - Visit Varengeville-sur-Mer and the marine cemetery. - Swim at the Plage des Petites Dalles and eat ice cream at the small ice cream truck in the beach parking lot. - Have a drink and eat oysters on Saint Aubin-sur-mer beach - Also possible 50 min drive: Etretat, Le Havre, Honfleur, Dieppe, Rouen Restaurants: - Eat on the terrace in front of the sea in Veulettes-sur-mer (Les Frégates, Chez Laurette...) or homemade fries and meat skewers at Estafrites - Eat a burger on the beach of Saint-Valery-en-Caux at Beach Boy - The Auberge de la Durdent in Héricourt-en-Caux.
