The space This remarkable getaway and meandering retreat consists of three private and equally spaced master suites. Two bedrooms are located in the main building structure and the third getaway guest house stands on its own, about 20 feet from the circular stone drive-in entrance, making it convenient for young and old alike. The guest house suite has a private bath with a luxurious outdoor shower, it also has a large private deck. Each bedroom suite in the main building has its own veranda, boasting incomparable views of the Virgin Islands, and attached bath. STARGAZER’s remote location is a favorite for family and close friends as it allows for peace and quiet yet is just close enough to surrounding islands that lunch at a nearby restaurant or a quick trip to restock the fridge is well within reach. Located at the top of Great Camanoe, STARGAZER is cooled by fresh trade winds from the East, giving guests the best of the warm Caribbean sun without the sweltering heat. Spend all day in the sun and shade while enjoying a continuous breeze. Take in a majestic sunset from the deck without fear from a massive mosquito attack. It's an absolute Caribbean luxury! Guest access GETTING THERE (AND AROUND) Guests fly in to the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island, a very short taxi ride or even just a walk to Trellis Bay. An alternative is to fly to St. Thomas, USVI and take the ferry from Charlotte Amalie to Road Town, Tortola, then taxi from there to Trellis Bay. As part of the rental, you will be picked up at Trellis Bay by our local manager, who will take you over to Great Camanoe & drive you up to the house. There either he, or our housekeeper, will show you around and answer your questions. You will have the use of our 4-wheel drive, 4-door Chevy Tracker to get back & forth from the dock to the house, which is about a 10 minute drive. The use of our outboard 17' Boston Whaler equipped with a brand new 4-stroke 70HP outboard motor is also provided in the rental fee - everything you need to explore the greater BVIs. The private jetty sits only about a half mile from Trellis Bay and is easily reached by boat. Boating skills are essential. Other things to note Great Camanoe is a private, completely residential island that has no shops, restaurants or business, just lots of peace and tranquility. After many years of serving as a site for sugar, cotton, and indigo plantations in the 1800's, the island was uninhabited until about fifty years ago when two small communities of residential, mostly vacation, homes were begun. Some interesting ruins and gravesites still remain from the past.
