Stay at La Casa Verde whether it is with family or friends! It is the most spacious villa in a Caribbean-style resort of colorful villas that includes a pool, hot tub, Tiki bar, live music & a view of the lake! It easily accommodates adults and has the homey feel and space that is great for children also. However, we apologize, we do not allow any pets under any circumstances. Our Villa is a quick walk to the St Hazard's Tiki/restaurant/pool & other places on MBI! We also have a lake view! AT the lake, bugs are unavoidable. There will be bugs every day! There are flies, may flies (aka June bugs, sand bugs), chiggers (although we do spray thoroughly around our place for this- one huge reason to not have a pet at our place), Kitchen: We have pots and pans and cooking utensils. We also offer disposable pans to save you the hassle of cleaning up! We also provide foil, saran wrap, plates, cups, Ziploc bags paper towels, garbage bags, napkins, etc. Please only use what you need. We have cooking oil for the copper pans and foil & cooking spray to cover the cooking sheets for the oven. Bathroom: We have shampoo, conditioner, male and female body soaps, bathroom towels and face towels (cloth and disposable). Beds: All beds will be made with sheets, bedspreads and pillows. Misc: We have a lot of extra items in our villa to share if you need them or have forgotten to pack something. There is a General Store that has a lot...but can also be expensive. Please use only what you need to make your stay enjoyable! There is a small parking space for 2 vehicles in front of our villa. Looking at teh parking space from our villa, we park to the left of it so that it does not block our lake view :) We have a few areas that our guests do not have access to so that we can store supplies and tools as we need them. -The closet in the bunk room is locked- but there are 2 drawers under the bunks available for storage. -The loft closet- has flooring and other items we might need for maintenance. -The shed behind the Villa- CAUTION- has landscaping tools and bug sprays. We are able to communicate when needed. Please let us know of any issues if they arise when staying. We want you to have an amazing stay! ST HAZARD'S RESORT: La Casa Verde is located in St. Hazard's Resort, a Caribbean style resort with a lake view that includes a pool, hot tub, Tiki bar, restaurant with inside and outside dining and live music and also offers a souvenir shop! St Hazard's resort is the most fun place to be! THE GENERAL STORE: The General Store (10 minute walk) has grocery items, a small hardware store & souvenir clothing. It is attached to a bar/restaurant to watch football, socialize and have a great time! They have great pizza and many other delicious dishes. It is a great environment for family and friends! Also, there is a family park across the street with a fun playground for children and a basketball & pickle ball court! JF WALLEYES: JF Walleyes is a restaurant/bar that has a wading pool in the back, a beautiful view of the sunset, delicious food and fun drinks! Perfect for children, socializing and Bachelor/Bachelorette parties! It also has a breakfast buffet on Saturday morning and 2 gift shops (one inside and one outside). THE ISLAND GRIND: The Island Grind, located at Lonz Winery near the ferry, is a the perfect coffee shop! It offers coffee, wine and beer! They serve hot and cold specialty coffees and teas! They have a breakfast selection and other delicious treats! You can enjoy the coffee after getting on/off the ferry or head there at night for events that they may offer such as Karaoke, live bands, craft show, etc. Visit the Island Grind upon arrival to find out what events will be offered while you are there! The Island Grind also has a FB page that shares events and specials! MIDDLE BASS STATE PARK: The Middle Bass State Park is located just off of the ferry next to the Lonz Winery! You can hike, swim, fish and boat there! It also offers bicycles, Kayaks and paddleboards for rent at the Harbormaster building! You can also enjoy beautiful historic scenery and look for sea glass, shells and *Lake Erie Lucky Stones at the small beaches! If you don't know what a Lake Erie Lucky Stone is, search it on the internet! MIDDLE BASS ISLAND YACHT CLUB: The yacht club offers docking for any type of boat. From what we have heard, there is the best fishing here! Also, they have a souvenir shop, showers and laundry facilities! GETTING A VEHICLE ON THE ISLAND: The Miller Ferry (CATAWBA) allows bikes and vehicles to travel over to the island. Just be sure to book your vehicles early! They only take reservations 2 weeks prior to your trip. It is best to call at 8 am exactly 2 weeks before your trip. It fills up quickly! Search for MILLER FERRY MIDDLE BASS ISLAND for more information. WALKING: Our villa is approximately 1 mile from the ferry. (See pic in our listing) Bring a rolling cart or wagon. Use large storage containers and fill with your items. You can stack 2 to 3 depending on weight with your items. That is the most efficient way to bring items if you do not have a vehicle. The dockmasters will guide you on where to put them on the ferry. ST HAZARD'S SHUTTLE: Most days, the shuttle is waiting at the dock. During weekdays, it is not always there. There is a small fee ($3-5) to take this shuttle. GOLF CART RENTALS: Available at JF Walleyes. - 1st come 1st served, reserve at restaurant 4 seat- $200/ 24 hrs 6 seat- $300/24 hrs Hourly rates available also. Available at St. Hazards. *Visit restaurant for prices. You can book these in advance through their website. However, you will have to walk or shuttle (St. Hazard's) to get the golf cart. They are not waiting at the dock. BYOB- Bring Your Own Bike on Miller Ferry: 2022 year price was $3.50 one way (total $7) RENT A BIKE: Middle Bass State Park JF Walleyes (if available) WALKING TO RESTAURANTS AND PARKS: (approximate) Beach- 1 minute Hazard's pool/restaurant - 2 minutes The General Store/Restaurant- 10 minutes JF Walleyes, Harbor Yacht Club, Island Grind, State Park 10-15 minutes 10 minutes with short cut, ask employees or see our map in folder) MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE FERRY DEPARTURE WHICH MEANS YOU NEED TO LEAVE 30 MINUTES EARLY ON FOOT FROM THE VILLA, 20 MINUTES BY VEHICLE. *There are limited ferries and it is easy to be stuck on the island.
