Description
Magical sunsets and magnificent coastal walks. Stop the clock relax and enjoy all that this little haven on the Jurassic coast has to offer. Something for everyone from chilling and reading to water sports such as sailing, kite surfing and paddle boarding. There are plenty of local pubs, restaurants and cafes to choose from too. Some of the best in walking distance. The local art and music scene is very established. This is a great spot to explore the Dorset coast and venture inland. The space All new appliances in the small but comprehensively equipped kitchen. This cottage has loads of character. When first built back in the 1600’s, Cove Garden Cottage was 2 x one up one down fisherman dwellings in what was then the main town on the island. By the 1990’s it was derelict and used by local fishermen to sort their catch. In 1994 it was saved by the Portland Conservation Society and totally renovated to the character cottage it is today! The layout as a result is unusual with steps up to the kitchen from the dining area featuring a large woodburner and patio doors with access to alfresco seating area and bench with sea views. Lots of windows throughout make the cottage unusually light and airy. The floors are stone downstairs and wooden up. The cottage does offers super flexible space for couples, families and small groups of friends. Guest access All of it including the whole garden. Patio doors to the garden which has stunning sea views. Other things to note Situated 1 minute walk to the beach does mean that the cottage is located on the main road so there is traffic noise during the day and occasional at night. The bedroom at the front has secondary double glazing. (Full double glazing not allowed as the cottage is Grade II listed). Also as the cottage is located close to the sea there is a very little steep section of pavement to get to the cottage which is easy to walk up but a consideration if you have limited mobility.
