Welcome to Casita de Arrebol! Enjoy a private, serene, & sizable casita located in walkable Nob Hill! Arrebol means afterglow. Think of that magnificent sandia pink color of the sky that you’ll see from our west-facing yard. The space We are fortunate to own the historic grounds that used to house a water tank and adobe well that supplied water to Nob Hill. We are two artists who live in the main house, the center of which is cylinder-shaped (the former water tank). Now, folks visit our house and grounds as part of historic tours. There are hand-painted tiles and original light fixtures both inside and outside of the main house and casita. The 500 square-feet casita is situated on the far side of our spacious double-lot backyard, offering guests complete privacy. In addition to a number of tall trees on the grounds (piñon, juniper, cedar, cypress, white mulberry, and Russian olive), there are many mature fruit trees you are welcome to pick fruit from — including pomegranate, plum, apple, apricot, pear, persimmon, and figs. Say hello to our “ladies,” our friendly chickens (Margot, Roxanne, and Linda), and enjoy fresh eggs as you please. Some will be left in the casita upon your arrival. Enjoy the many rose bushes, wildflowers, native flowers, plants, ponds, wagon-wheel trims, and more in this glorious oasis that is the size of a city park. Enjoy your coffee by the massive adobe well with a seated area and watch the colorful koi swim by. If you’re lucky to be here in mid-to-late summer and early fall, enjoy fruits and vegetables from the garden beds. This year, we’ve got artichokes, tomatoes, lettuces, broccoli, eggplant, strawberries, cantaloupe, swiss chard, potatoes, cucumbers, corn, beans, watermelon, grapes, and more. Our grounds are resplendent with butterflies, hummingbirds, white-winged doves, and sometimes, you might even spot Earl, our neighborhood roadrunner. Enjoy your own fenced in patio/yard area with a table and chairs, barbecue, and fire pit under the numerous outdoor twinkle lights. Octagonal patio by adobe well and garden beds and fruit trees are in a shared space with owners. No one has had an issue before!
