Island Escape: Serene Summer Home, Beach & Nature

The space The main building is a 54 sqm house, built in the early 1950s, which offers simple, charming accommodations. Facing the beach, the house features a partially covered wooden terrace—perfect for relaxing, rain or shine. The terrace extends along one side of the house to the back terrace. The first bedroom in the main building has two 90 cm wide Hästen beds (configurable together or separately) and two spacious chests of drawers for clothing storage. The second bedroom in the main building contains a bunk bed with foam mattresses, a desk, and chair. The tiled bathroom features a Separett Villa toilet, sink, bathroom cabinet, and a shower with sliding glass doors. Due to limited water, quick showers are necessary. The living/dining room includes two sofas, a coffee table, a foldable dining table, four chairs, and a high chair. Two double patio doors and a window by the dining area provide ample natural light. The kitchen has a small stove with four burners and an oven, a microwave, a kettle, a half-height freezer, a full-height refrigerator, a small dishwasher and a pantry. The back terrace offers a hanging armchair, suspended by a rope from the ceiling. There are two Baden Baden armchairs and two other sun chairs. An older, uncovered trampoline is on the property (use at your own risk). The 15 sqm guest house is split into two rooms plus a small hall. The main room in the guest house has a 140 cm wide bed (IKEA) with glass patio doors leading to the terrace. The second and smaller room in the guest house has a 90 cm wide bed, a desk, an extra half size fridge, and kettle. The room has windows in both ends. The guest house does not have running water or a toilet. The 10 meter high swing is exceptionally popular among children of all ages. It has different seats for different age groups - including one more suitable for adults that want to sit there reading (use at your own risk). The swing is connected to a high branch with a metal wire. There is a tree house on the property, near by the water, which has a small terrace and a window. The tree house is about 4 sqm. Visit and use at your own risk. There is a jetty which is currently a bit deformed due to ice blowing into the bay during winter, but it can still be used for smaller boats. The shore on the property features rock slabs ground down by glaciers which can be great for sun bathing. Guest access Guests have the entire property. Other things to note - The parking space included is on the mainland (Älgö) and not at the island. You will need to take the boat taxi 10 minutes to get to the property. This costs 600 SEK each way for up to 4 people, and 100 SEK extra per additional person. Book well in advance. - You can rent a small boat with an outboard engine and with a parking place at the jetty at mainland Älgö for 2000 SEK (for the entire stay). Requires that you have proven experience. A full tank of petrol included. Refill with unleaded petrol (no oil!) if you need more. - If you rent the boat and it stops functioning, our only commitment is to refund the charge for the boat. You will then have to use the boat taxi instead, at your own cost. - There are no shops or restaurants on the island. - The nearest shops at the mainland can be found in Saltsjöbadens centrum - The toilet is a urine-separating toilet (sit-down use only). - The fire places are currently not in use. - The washing machine is a "camping washing machine" and can wash 3 kg. Detergent is included. - The mixer in the kitchen can handle 0.7 l. - Beyond the kitchen equipment listed, there is also a stand mixer, electric mixer (beater) and a waffle iron. - The Bread machine is a Wilfa BM-50 and makes bread that is either 1 or 1.5 kg - Bedding and towels is included; 7 under sheets, 7 duvet covers, 7 pillowcases, 2 kitchen towels, 3 regular towels, 7 bath towels. Do not sleep on decoration cushions. Only sleep on the white linens provided. - Dish washer tablets are included - Dish soap, dish brush and dish cloth is included. - Soap is included.
