Historic 4-star air-conditioned house, a true countryside gem in the heart of Nyons in Drôme Provençale. Fully renovated and tastefully decorated, Villa Barri offers a relaxing escape with pool, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 large terraces, and a garden with bamboo grove, plancha grill, ping-pong, and pétanque. The space NEW 2026: AIR CONDITIONING Important note: Air conditioning is available in the house (living room and 4 out of 5 bedrooms—the ground-floor bedroom stays cool all year round). Please note that air conditioning is charged according to your consumption during your stay and is not included in the price. An electricity meter reading for the air conditioning is taken upon your arrival ((screenshot of the air conditioning system app shared), and another is taken on the day of your departure. You will be asked to pay for the electricity at the current rate. Payment is made either in cash upon departure or via Airbnb (using the "Send or request money" feature). Very peaceful, Villa Barri is rented as a whole and available year-round. You'll feel like you're in the countryside while being right in the center of a charming town in the South of France. We renovated this house over 9 months with great attention to detail. Household linen, sheets, towels, tea towels, and pool towels are included. You will find: GARDEN LEVEL - An entrance with coat hooks and a shoe rack - The "Yellow Room" of 33 m² (160 x 200 cm bed), with its private bathroom featuring a freestanding bathtub and a lounge area with television (Free box with all channels, including international ones) A laundry room with washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board, and cleaning supplies 1ST FLOOR - Light flows through the rooms, and the living spaces overlook the very quiet south-facing garden. - A fully equipped kitchen with 2 ovens, a 4-burner gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee makers (filter coffee maker, SMEG espresso machine using ground coffee—not capsules, French press), a centrifugal juicer, blender, 4-slice toaster, as well as a raclette machine and fondue set for your winter stays - A living room with fireplace: here, as throughout the house, you'll discover works of art by local artists. The fireplace, functional in winter, allows for warm, cozy fires (firewood available for a fee upon request) - A dining room seating 10: the ceramic tableware was custom-made by local ceramicist Sandrine Bonfils. Baby and children's plates and cutlery are also available - A 30 m² shaded terrace with outdoor lounge furniture and a dining table for 10 guests A reading corner with books to enjoy on-site and board games. Free parking is also available a few dozen meters away (Place de la Libération and Promenade de la Digue). An electric vehicle charging station for two cars is located right next to the house, at 58 Promenade de la Digue. Guest access Villa Barri is rented in its entirety, with a secure parking space for one car graciously included. A badge to access the parking area will be provided upon your arrival. Free parking is available within a few minutes' walk from the house: the Digue parking lot or in the center of Nyons. However, please note that on market days (Thursdays and Sundays during high season), parking in certain areas of Nyons town center is prohibited from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Two public electric vehicle charging stations are also located right next to the house, at 58 Promenade de la Digue and 76 Promenade de la Digue. Other things to note Here's the English translation: NEW, ORGANIC BEDDING & SOFT SHEETS The mattresses are new organic latex from 2023, made in France. Two pillows per person are provided in each bedroom. They are made of organic cotton. The sheets are soft (5-star hotel quality): they are made of Oeko-Tex® certified organic cotton sateen (197 threads/cm²), manufactured in the Vosges region. The bath linen is made of thick organic cotton, Oeko-Tex® certified, manufactured in Portugal. Pool towels can be found in the basket below (bathroom linen from the bedrooms must not be used outside). Without a car or bike, you can reach: One of the café-restaurants on the charming Place des Arcades in less than a minute on foot The famous Romanesque bridge of Nyons in 3 minutes on foot One of the many beaches along the Eygues River where you can swim and stroll (remember to bring your own personal beach towels for your stay, as bath linen and pool towels from Villa Barri cannot be taken outside the house) The Distillerie Bleu Provence, which produces essential oils of lavender (several species to discover!), thyme, rosemary, savory, etc., and whose warm team organizes very interesting tours and workshops The places associated with writer René Barjavel (The Blue Cart, The Ice People, Ashes Ashes, etc.), a native of Nyons (1911–1985) The Randonne Tower, another historic monument of Nyons along with the Quartier des Forts, in less than 5 minutes on foot The vast, rich, and lively nationally renowned Provençal market of Nyons on Thursday mornings, offering local products (olives, fruits and vegetables, cheeses, Provençal herbs, soaps, and artisanal goods) in less than a minute on foot. A basket with mesh bags for fruits and vegetables for market shopping is available at Villa Barri The Nyons Tennis Club, which rents courts by the hour, 2 minutes on foot from the house (reservations possible on the Tenup website) The Nyons Aquatic Park (6,000 m²), open daily, 2 minutes on foot (with a 25m pool reserved for swimmers until 1 p.m. every day) 7 mountain biking trails departing from Nyons A wellness center (sophrology, acupuncture, kundalini yoga, relaxation massage, vibratory hair therapy, psychotherapy, kinesiology) less than 5 minutes on foot From the house, you can also enjoy numerous hiking trails for all levels, as well as cycling routes to Mont Ventoux and through the Baronnies. Bikes, including electric ones, can be rented 3 minutes on foot from the house The cinema with a great selection of new releases and older films, including screenings in original version, just 2 minutes on foot from the house The Baronnies Tourist Office, 1 minute on foot from Villa Barri, which can advise you on all your activities (see also below "A little tourism...") All necessary shops, including an organic and bulk grocery store, a gourmet food shop, two bookstores, several toy stores, and pharmacies, all within 3 minutes on foot 4H30 FROM PARIS, 2H FROM LYON, MARSEILLE, MONTPELLIER, AND GRENOBLE The Nyons bus connects in 1 hour to the Montélimar TGV station and in 1 hour 20 minutes to Avignon TGV. The bus stop is 1 minute on foot from the house, in front of the Nyons tourist office. You can therefore easily stay at Villa Barri without a car from your train station. NEIGHBORHOOD Villa Barri shares walls with two other townhouses. Out of respect for our friendly neighbors, please do not plan parties or make noise after 10 p.m. EQUIPMENT AND GAMES FOR CHILDREN A high chair, a changing table, and a travel cot are available in the house. Upon request, a baby bathtub, a bottle warmer, and/or a second high chair can be provided. Please let us know at the time of your booking. You will also find a basket with children's games suited to each age group in the house. Near the house, you can take your children to: The Nyons Aquatic Park (6,000 m², water slides, various pools) The Les Barons Perchés treetop adventure course in the cool mountain air facing Villa Barri Bike outings on trails with state-certified instructors (contact us) POOL AND SAFETY The pool does NOT have a fence or alarm. Its approved safety system, legal for a rental property, is a bar cover that must be opened or closed according to your needs and your ability to supervise children. Children are the full responsibility of the adults, who commit to supervising them at all times when the cover is open. To visualize the protection system, you can search "pool bar cover" on the internet. Arm floats are available in the garden shed, but they do not exempt adults from constant supervision of children while swimming. ORGANIC TOILETRIES Shower gel, hand soap, and shampoo are provided in all bathrooms. They are all organic (Biocoop). Hair dryers are available in each bathroom. IN-HOME MASSAGE UPON REQUEST Depending on the availability of the multi-certified massage therapist partnered with Villa Barri, it is possible to book a massage at Villa Barri, on a massage table, in the peaceful setting beneath the vaulted ceiling of the garden-level bathroom of the "Yellow Room." To arrange this, contact us at the time of booking or contact the massage therapist directly using the information provided in the house welcome booklet. WATER The region suffers, like many others, from declining groundwater levels. Please respect water restriction guidelines and limit consumption as much as possible during high season. FANS New, silent portable fans are available in all bedrooms. REDUCED MOBILITY The house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility: the layout across several floors of this historic 18th-century house unfortunately did not allow for specific adaptations. HOUSE RULES You will be asked to sign the inventory at the beginning and end of your stay. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the house, even with windows open, and even on the balcony of the "Balcony Room" due to its proximity to the bedroom (curtains, wallpaper). Smoking and vaping are permitted on the 2 large terraces, where ashtrays are provided. Swimming in the pool with sunscreen or sun oil is strictly prohibited. The anthracite grey liner will be damaged if you swim with these products. Please shower before swimming and use the adjustable parasol for shade if needed while swimming. Any damage to the liner will require compensation. Cleaning the pool liner with a regular sponge is strictly prohibited. If cleaning is necessary, please use the special sponge located in the garden shed. Hiking, swimming, visits to olive oil mills, Provençal markets, heritage, and the sweet life await you in the wonderful region of Nyons. Nyons is a picturesque small town located in Drôme Provençale, renowned for its mild and sunny climate, its olive groves, its lavender, and its rich history. The town was quickly nicknamed "Little Nice" throughout history due to its sunshine worthy of Nice, especially exceptional in winter. Just 1 hour from the summit of Mont Ventoux, famous and well-known to cyclists, Nyons is an ideal base for exploring the Drôme region, and in particular the Baronnies Regional Natural Park: walking, watching vultures, treetop adventures, rock climbing, cycling, swimming in rivers, discovering local producers' night markets, taking yoga classes, and enjoying the rich heritage and beautiful landscapes are all activities possible from Villa Barri in Nyons. The Romanesque Bridge of Nyons The bridge is a magnificent medieval bridge spanning the Eygues River. It is a listed historic monument (see photos). It is 3 minutes from the house. The Olive Oil Mills, Vinegar Factory, and Scourtinerie of Nyons Nyons is famous for its AOC olive oil. We recommend visiting the town's olive oil mills: discover the production process of this unique oil and enjoy a tasting. Nyons also hosts a historic factory making traditional scourtins—rugs, hangings, and coconut fiber products—made by the same family since 1882. The Scourtinerie holds the "Living Heritage Company" label. The Provençal Markets Nyons is well known for its colorful and wonderfully rich Provençal market. It is held on Thursday mornings throughout the town center. You will find local products, fresh fruits and vegetables, local cheeses, spices, and much more. Another artisan and food market takes place on Sunday mornings in Nyons. From May to October, local producers' markets with refreshments and entertainment are held on Monday evenings from 5 p.m. in the village of Les Pilles, 20 minutes by bike from Villa Barri and 10 minutes by car. Rock climbing, cycling routes (road, mountain biking, downhill), horseback riding, tennis, yoga, massages, and hiking await you. The region around Nyons is full of many marked trails for all levels. You can take beautiful walks through the olive groves, vineyards, and lavender fields, combining sport and relaxation in magnificent landscapes.
