Spacious room for rent with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The room has it's own private entrance and the apartment is shared with another Airbnb guest. The other room may have a single traveler or couple. Convenient South Berkeley location in a diverse neighborhood. Great for travelers looking to explore the Bay Area with BART trains to Sf, OAK, SFO & surrounding areas are a short walk or ride. 10 blocks away from Cal, 2 blocks away from Alta Bates 1 block away from Whole Foods! The space * * Please note, the majority of our reservations are for a full semester or school year and this is preferred. We accept semester-long reservations (fall/spring) and shorter stays in summer. To keep rates low, we minimize vacancies and don't accept reservations that leave a large gap in the calendar. If your reservation would leave a 7+ day gap on the calendar, please contact us first. The Airbnb calendar is up to date and shows current bookings. The room is furnished with a queen-size mattress and bed frame, a small sofa, small dining set, desk, chair, tv, and tv stand. Please read full listing before sending in a reservation request. Due to Berkeley’s strict rent control, we require 1) copies of ID from all adults staying in the apartment and 2) a signed lease through Docusign, completed at least 48-hours prior to check-in. Unfortunately, this requirement cannot be waived so if this is a concern, another Airbnb would be best. We strive to provide a pleasant stay for our guests and keep our rates low by providing comfortable basics. Our apartments are not luxury accommodations and the sheets and towels are Target-brand. The furniture is basic quality, Target/ Walmart/ Ikea-equivalent. We also accept pets so if finding pet hair would upset you, or if anyone in your group has allergies, a different Airbnb would be best. All older buildings require maintenance and we always work quickly with guests to correct issues that come up. If it would upset you to work through maintenance issues together, for your stress levels and ours, please book a newer building. Guests looking for space on a budget who are self-sufficient and communicate well have the best experience staying with us. Guests looking for a higher-end experience would be happier elsewhere. We do our best to provide clean apartments but there have been cleaning issues from time to time. It's difficult to find cleaners in this area who will clean at a fee guests are comfortable paying. Cleaning quotes for a single apartment run from $100 to $325+. If there are cleaning issues, we always work quickly with guests to correct but if it would upset you to work through these things together, it would be best that you book elsewhere. The quality of our apartments is similar to a Best Western, Extended Stay, or Comfort Suites and our prices reflect this. If you wouldn't stay in these chains, or if you prefer a Hilton or Marriott, there are higher-end Airbnb options available so please book with them. We take great care in screening our guests to ensure it is in safe hands. Please leave a message with details of who you are, reason for the visit, and who will be accompanying you, in addition to any details you think would be helpful for us to know. If you leave a short message without detail, we probably won't be able to accommodate. Price is fixed—Airbnb is great in that there are plenty of options to fit everyone's budget! Lastly, we are a husband and wife team managing the property. We are here should guests need anything but we are extremely busy with four young kids and full-time jobs so if you anticipate needing a lot of correspondence or assistance, we unfortunately won't be able to accommodate. Additional details: * This is an apartment in a shared multi-unit building. You may hear footsteps/ voices in units next to, above, or below, you. There are also pets on the property so there may be barking from time to time. * All of our bookings are longer stays for 30+ days. Guests replenish their own paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. * This is a self check-in/ self check-out apartment. Instructions will be sent day of check-in. * You will coordinate with the other roommate in this person on cleaning and any other shared responsibilities as you would in any other co-living situation * There is no air conditioning and one shared heater in the shared hallway that provides heat for both bedrooms. * This is an urban environment with its fair share of crime. Please by aware of your surroundings when you're out and about. * Check in is anytime starting at 4pm, with a 10 am check out. Please leave the place as you found it and send us a quick text that you’ve checked out. * Pet policy: We accept dogs under 40 lbs, unfortunately no cats due to the damage their urine can cause to flooring. Dogs are an additional $50 per month and a $300 refundable deposit. * No parties or unaccounted for guests * Off-street parking is available for $60/ month and is subject to availability. * A lease will be sent through Docusign after booking and ID is required Guest access This apartment is on the third floor and has no elevator.
