The space IMPORTANT NOTE ON FACILITIES: The Outdoor Nature Shower with on-demand hot water is seasonal, available from approximately May to mid-October, depending on outdoor temperatures. During the off-season, Disposable Body Wipes are provided. The Cabin features a year-round, eco-friendly composting Toilet. There is no Indoor Shower. This 96 sq. ft. tiny Cabin, completed in 2023, offers a unique and intimate nature experience. A scenic 375-foot Solar-lit forest path leads you from the parking area to your secluded hideaway. Your hosts live on the property, 325 feet away, ensuring both assistance and complete privacy. Sleeping Loft: Ascend the ladder stairs to a cozy full/double bed. Surrounded by 360-degree screened windows with blackout blinds, you can enjoy the sounds and views of the forest. Main Living Area: Relax on the comfy sofa. The Cabin is equipped with a Coffee Press, Kettle, and a selection of Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate mix and Coffee Mate. Board Games, Books, and cards are provided for your entertainment. Games Provided: Cornhole, Jaipur, Splendor Duel, Scrabble, Patchwork & Codenames. Covered Porch & Outdoor Kitchen: Your private Porch features a two-burner Propane Camp Stove (propane included) and a Dining Table for two. The Kitchenette is stocked with Olive oil, Spices, Pots, Pans, BBQ Utensils, Toaster for Stove top, Dishware and two coolers (Guest supply ice) for your Groceries. Outdoor Bathroom: Steps from the cabin is a private outdoor bathroom with a year-round eco-friendly Composting Toilet. A seasonal Nature Shower with on-demand hot water is available from May to mid-October (dependent on outdoor temperatures). Body Wash, Shampoo, Conditioner and Towels are provided when the Shower is operational. Disposable Body Wipes are provided when the Shower is closed. Private Outdoor Area: Your personal space includes two Muskoka Chairs, a Bench, a Picnic Table, and a Dyna-Glo propane BBQ. The mossy forest floor is perfect for yoga or relaxing in nature. Shared Outdoor Area: Gather around the Fire Pit at the front of the property (free firewood provided). Activities: Bring your Kayaks or / and Mountain Bikes and you can go Kayaking or Ride to Forest Lake which is 3 minutes away by Car. You can also explore the Country Roads with lots of trees, wildflowers and fresh crisp air. Amenities: Stay connected with reliable Wi-Fi (33 Mbps) and Cell service, or unplug with solar-powered lighting, device charging, and Fairy Lanterns for ambiance. Includes rechargeable Bug Zapper, Bluetooth Speaker and Fan. Where You’ll Be: Located minutes from South River (4 mins), Sundridge (7 mins), and local stores and restaurants (10 mins or less). Explore nearby attractions like Crystal Cave (3 mins), Screaming Heads (27 mins), or paddleboard at Checkerboard Beach (20 mins), Eagle Lake (20 mins), Forest Lake (3 mins), Lake Bernard (7 mins), or Lynch Lake (20 mins). Hike at Mikisew Provincial Park (20 mins) or Algonquin Provincial Park’s West Gate (just over an hour away). Good to Know: 375-ft flat walk to cabin (flat terrain); The path and the area surrounding the Cabin are lit with Solar Motion Sensor and Landscaping lights. Outdoor Shower seasonal (May–Oct). No alternate indoor Shower. Disposable Body Wipes provided when Shower is not available. Solar power for lights, Wi-Fi & devices only—no appliances. We can charge Power units for CPAP machines at the Main House. Rural sounds (wildlife, dogs, birds, trains, rooster, and occasionally farm machinery & small planes) add charm! We’re available if you need anything during your stay and happy to share tips on local attractions, activities, and dining options. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the entire back area of the property where the Cabin is located, ensuring total privacy. This includes the Cabin, the covered Porch, the outdoor Bathroom, and the surrounding private yard space. The Driveway and the Fire Pit are located in a shared area near the Main Residence, but guests are encouraged to use the fire pit (with free firewood provided) at their leisure. We usually give Guests their privacy when using the Fire Pit. Other things to note To ensure you have the best possible stay, please note the following before booking: Access Path: The cabin is a 375-foot walk from the parking area along a flat, well-lit forest path. Seasonal Outdoor Shower: The hot water Shower is outdoors and available from May to mid-October, weather permitting. There is no indoor shower. Disposable Body Wipes are provided during the off-season. Solar Power: The Cabin runs on solar power, sufficient for Wi-Fi, lights, and charging personal devices (phones, laptops). It cannot support high-wattage appliances like hair dryers. We can charge power units for CPAP machines at the Main House upon request. Location: The Cabin is not on a lakefront but the nearest lake is 3 minutes away. We do not provide canoes or kayaks but rentals are available nearby and Guests are welcome to bring their own. Rural Sounds: Part of the charm is the sound of the countryside! You may hear wildlife, our roosters, dogs, local farm machinery, and a train that passes twice a day. At night when it is quiet, sounds carry further. Bugs & Wildlife: This is a rural, forested area with Moose, Bear, Deer, Wolves, Coyotes and Wild Turkeys etc. There are also Garter Snakes which are harmless. The wildlife usually quickly move through the property mostly at night. The Cabin has screens on all Windows which protects the Cabin from Mosquitos and Black Flies as long as the Front Door is kept closed. Ready for your adventure?
