Ingledene - Edwardian with a contemporary update

Ingledene is such a special house! From the front it's a charming Edwardian cottage, but step inside and see how the house opens up to reveal a huge open-plan living & dining area with spacious kitchen. Patio doors open to the garden & outside dining, featuring sea views. Inside, there are big sofas and a wood burning stove, and a lovely dining area. We sleep 8 guests maximum across our 4 bedrooms. No additional guests can be accepted. We regret: no pets, no parties, no children under 8 yrs. The space The front of the house is the original Edwardian cottage, believed to have been built in the early 1920's. This part of the house accommodates our 4 bedrooms, our two bathrooms and separate WC, and the original living room at the front, which we call the snug. Towards the back of the house is the magical space we created. The design of this new open plan area is inspired by a boathouse, with a vaulted ceiling showing the open rafter construction. The additional height on the ceiling makes the space feel so big and spacious, and the design itself is really spectacular. This area is arranged with a big open plan kitchen area with a long kitchen island which also features a breakfast bar with stools along one side. There is a long dining table in front of this with three overhanging pendant lights to illuminate the table. Our table seats all our 8 guests at once. Finally, there is a very comfortable living space with two large sofas and a lounge chair with foot rest. The wood burning stove and Smart TV complete the setting for a very relaxing evening at home. Please note - we generally arrive and leave by the back door entrance which is the conservatory/utility room. It is easier to access from the car parking and should be considered the default entrance. Guest access Guests can access the whole property. Apart from one or two steps to get in to the house it is completely level inside so is suitable for people with limited mobility. Other things to note A small but important note for the coffee drinkers. We have a coffee machine which uses Lavazza Eco coffee pods. It's a small little machine but it makes great coffee, so if guests wish to use it, please ensure to pack some Lavazza pods. We also have some cafetieres which take regular ground coffee.
