Covered Bridge Cottage

Located on a farm in the heart of Amish country and amid one of the largest concentrations of antiques in America, we are central to many attractions, yet quaint and secluded enough to provide a relaxing retreat. The Covered Bridge Cottage started out in the 1800’s as a mill office and over the years was converted into a home through several additions. The house has been in our family for close to a century and it was our honor to restore it to a comfortable, energy efficient, durable home. The space The downstairs is an open concept kitchen, dining and living area. There is a small, but fully stocked kitchen with a full-size stove/oven, and a counter height fridge/freezer. A dinette in the corner provides an eating or working area, as well as stools at the island. The living room has a large sofa as well as a chair-and-a-half, games and puzzles in the storage ottoman, a 43" Samsung Frame TV, and an electric fireplace. Walk up our beautiful staircase to the open loft A-frame bedroom with a luxurious king size bed, convertible sofa that can be made into a twin size bed, and a secretary desk for work, and storing clothing. You will have a closet for storing clothes, and luggage racks if you'd prefer to keep things in your bags. A laundry room off of the bedroom is available for extended stays. The beautiful, modern bathroom features a large, walk in marble tile shower with a rain flow shower head and bamboo shower seat. A green Italian tile accent wall is the backdrop to the teak wood double vanity. Various toiletries are available if you forget anything, and there are plenty of towels and washcloths for your use. The covered porch provides an extended living area outside, with string lights for a beautiful evening experience. The backyard has a small patio with Adirondack chairs, a gas grill with tools, and a gas fire table to roast marshmallows or warm yourself during chilly evenings. You will have a view of the covered bridge and the peaceful meadow/creek from the backyard. Guest access You will have full access of the house, with the exclusion of our supply closet. Other things to note The electric fence along the perimeter of the backyard is charged because there are sheep in the meadow. Please don’t touch it 😊
