Whether you're well seasoned in the outdoors or not, this adventure offers the most authentic Alaskan experience you could imagine. This overnight yurt adventure begins with a kayak across Trail Lake in Historic Moose Pass. We then hike 1 mile along the Iditarod Trail up to deep emerald, glacial Grant Lake where your yurt awaits. Enjoy a BBQ style dinner, followed by a cozy night sleep in the Alaskan wilderness. The next day, enjoy breakfast & return hike back to Moose Pass. The ‘Nellie’ is our Alaskan Yurt, hand built on the banks of glacial Grant Lake. This remote getaway is a year round paradise equipped with super comfy, expedition style mattresses, a cast iron wood stove and a handmade spruce table that’s perfect for cards and board games. We also installed some solar lights that help provide a bit of ambiance and add just that little extra touch to remind you of the modern conveniences we’re lucky to have. Our backcountry camp is intended to feel rustic, yet we value comfort as well. It's no resort, but the rustic, frontier hospitality you'll experience along with this beautiful wilderness setting is something you'll cherish forever. And our aim, would be to have you return again and again! The place is all yours. After your host(s) BBQ up some deliciousness for the evening we’ll leave you to it! There’s an outhouse and a campfire ring nearby, and well, really nothing else for miles! Just you and Alaska! We're there for you! The whole reason we built this camp was to help people have access to a beautiful part of Alaska and we try to add as much information and some pretty amazing local stories as well. While, after dinner, we'll leave you to it, we won't be far away and most guests actually have cell service if needed. No neighbors for miles! To access the yurt, it is a 1 mile kayak & 1 mile hike along the Historic Iditarod Trail. Your hosts will accompany you for this and make sure you have a nice, lunch & BBQ dinner for an unforgettable evening in the wilderness of Alaska. A night spent out in wild Alaska is absolutely magical! The next morning your host will provide breakfast before the beautiful hike out. We are not in Seward. AirBnB settings don't recognize Moose Pass, AK. We are 29 miles north of Seward in beautiful Moose Pass, Alaska. Kayaking and hiking are the main forms of transportation to and from our yurt. The trail is a 1 mile 'hosted' hike with elevation change of around 200 ft. The beautiful glacial lakes and winding, wooded trails serve as excellent highways here in Alaska! This is a remote camp setting with an outhouse. (Arguably the best view in camp!) Please make sure to check out what is included, and what you need to bring! Feel free to message us if you have further questions!
