Description

Our Luxury, Spacious, 6 Bed Contemporary Farmhouse with Swimming Pool (summer), Hot tub, Huge Outdoor Living Space sits on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. We welcome pets, Dogs, Cats, even Horses and Ponies! Cosy living spaces, great for entertaining and family gatherings. Amazing walks, cycling, and walks. A favorite for Family Birthday Parties. Great Local Dog Friendly Pub. Loads of Ace Restaurants. Very quite and peaceful. Things to do all year around. The space You walk in through the utility room with washing and drying facilities, downstairs toilet and wet room for pets and humans alike, then into the huge kitchen diner. The kitchen is absolutely state of the art, with every gadget you would possibly need and enough pots and pans to cook the most elaborate dishes for your guests. From Integrated steamer, FOUR ovens, 2 fridge freezers, wine cooler, boiling water tap, air fryer, 4 integrated bins, 2 warming trays, huge television with all channels available. At the other end of the kitchen, there is a dining table that sits 12 with ease, an old wine cabinet from Sir Ian Botham, 2 x 3 seater sofas and patio doors looking towards the drive. Off the kitchen you enter the large spacious hall way with built in heated cupboards for 100’s of jackets and shoes. 2 doors off the hall lead to 2 totally different living rooms. One more family orientated with a 65 inch TV with Wii, karaoke machine, disco lights, a large U shaped sofa and heated stone floor. The other living room more sophisticated with thick luxurious carpet, a log burning stove, chesterfield chairs and sofas, a piano, sound system, a desk, games table and spectacular views across the valley. There is a double door to make the two living rooms into one. The Oak stair case has a matching oak stair gate to stop muddy paws heading up onto the cream carpeted first floor where there are 5 very well sized bedrooms and a further 3 bathrooms. All the bedrooms have King or Super King sized beds. Bedroom 3 has 2 king size beds in. 3 bedrooms are en-suite (one Jack and Jill style). All bar one bedrooms have televisions and all have a good amount of storage for clothes and belongings. There is a desk on the spacious landing as an extra work area should you require. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire property (apart from a walk in wardrobe we use for storage and the loft space). The hot tub, pool and all the grounds are exclusive to the house guests. We just ask you to make sure you don't take dogs into fields that have livestock in. Other things to note There is so much to do here at Foxhall Farm, all year around. Having being open now for exactly a year, we have found the most popular use of the house has been family get togethers and birthday parties. Our guests during the summer have enjoyed the solar heated swimming pool (its cold when its cold outside!) This is a great place to bring your dogs. The local pub serves fabulous food and drinks and has its own dog menu (Elsa recommends the salmon and rice!). If you are a foodie, you are in the right place, we have lots and lots of gorgeous restaurants around this area, from many Michelin star restaurants to delicious pub grub. To work it off, we can offer lots of exciting activities. The cycling and walks literally on our doorstep take you to some of the most stunning scenery I have ever seen, lakes, waterfalls, streams, woods, forests, valleys and hills. These can be enjoyed on foot, on your bikes or even on horseback. We are happy to accommodate your horses and ponies at Foxhall farm, but do ask you let us know before you book to make sure we have a field put to one side. We can take up to 12 horses or ponies and have ample parking for boxes and trailers. We have some very famous neighbours here, including former PM Rishi Sunak, The Ex PM of Australia, the owners of Morrisons, and Wayne Rooney just apparently just bought a house in the next village. My favourite days out include walking 3 hours to the Owl at Hawmby and having a lovely meal with drinks and getting a taxi home. Driving to Pickering, then taking the steam train, through Goathland (heartbeat territory) to Whitby, having Fish & Chips at the Magpie Café, a walk along the beach, and back again by train. For little ones, Forbidden Corner (you must book) Monk Park Farm, Lightwater Valley, and Flamingo Land are the favourites. We are very blessed with Historical sites, houses and Gardens. If you have never been, you need to try all of these (in no order): Fountains Abbey & Studley Deer Park Castle Howard Newby Hall Harrogate Valley Gardens (and walk up to Harlow Carr Gardens and the secret Bettys tearooms there) If you like sports, we are members of the local tennis and golf club and can arrange for you to play as guests. If you want to stay at home, we have lots of board games and outdoor toys. You just need to make sure our new puppy doesn’t run off with your ball. I found a stash of about 6 this week in her little hidey hole that I hadn’t bought! Please let us know if you like dogs and cats prior to arrival. We have two Burmese cats called Gus & Lucifer. If you open the cat flap, or shout them at the door they will come and join you for the duration of your stay, or for as long as your food supply remains decent. To keep within the rules of Airbnb, you must be aware that there are animals on the Farm that can possibly be dangerous. We have cows and calves in some of the fields that don’t like dogs going up to them, and we have two farm dogs Elsa and Anna. The holiday house is totally secure and fenced off though and we will let you know where the cows are in the fields when you arrive. Things that aren’t perfect, just to warn you in advance. The pool is freezing cold when it is not summer. We have a telephone mast half way down the drive that is a bit unsightly (but the signal and wifi is superb!!!). There are certain times of year when we can’t put up horses due to crop rotation, there are pylons in the bottom field that spoil the view a little bit, and the hot water tank is 900 litres, and needs to re-heat when it empties. With regards to shopping, there is M&S, Tescos, Aldi (my fav), Lidl, 10 minutes away. Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco deliver to the farm, and we can take your delivery in on check in day for you if required. There is so much more to tell you, if you have any questions, please do feel free to message me. And check out Foxhall Farm on FB for more up to date information.
