De' Servi Suite al Duomo

What about staying literally 200 steps away from Florence Cathedral ? ‘De’ Servi Suite’ boasts such an incredible location, between the Duomo and Santissima Annunziata Basilica, with the Accademia and the astounding statue of David less than 3 minutes walk away – Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio, too, are just a little stroll farther, with shops, restaurants and bars all around. In other words, you are right in the middle of the action, with everything at your fingertips!! The space ‘De’ Servi Suite’ is located on the third floor of an ancient palace, with a stylish lift serving all floors. In spite of the unbeatable location overlooking Florence rooftops and Via de' Servi, it is very quite, as it totally soundproofed. Reserved to non smoking guests, it is nice and spacious, with a nice dining/living room with kitchen area and the main bedroom, plus of course the bathroom, for a total of about 50 square meters (apx 60 sqyds). It sleeps up to 4 people, two in the main bedroom (either double-bed or two twin beds) and two on the sofa in the living room, which converts into a double-bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, double sink, dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. It goes without saying that the apartment has air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi and a washing machine, too. Guest access ‘De’ Servi Suite’ is located at no. 38, Via dei Servi, at the corner with Via degli Alfani. Thanks to its central location, it is generally not necessary to use any public transport to visit the city and its monuments, as they are all within walking distance. Furthermore, Piazza San Marco is the terminus of the tram (line T2) going directly to the train station and the airport, while from Piazza Libertà many bus lines lead to Fiesole, Settignano and Piazzale Michelangelo. To reach the suite from Santa Maria Novella TRAIN STATION, here are the options: - take a taxi for about €20; - take the tram: exiting from platform 16, take line T2 towards 'San Marco Università' to the terminus - from here continue on Via Ricasoli and turn left on Via degli Alfani until the intersection with Via de' Servi - it's literally a 3 minute walk; - walk all the way, if you don't have much luggage and feel energetic: leave the station by track no. 16, cross the tramway tracks and take Via Cerretani and Via Panzani until reaching the Cathedral Square, with the massive white Duomo in the middle: continue along the left-hand side of the church, turn left into Via de' Servi, where the loft is at no. 38 – altogether it will take about 15-20 minutes. From Florence Peretola AIRPORT, the best option is the T2 tram to the last stop 'San Marco Università' - from here continue on Via Ricasoli and turn left on Via degli Alfani until the intersection with Via de' Servi - it's literally 3 minutes walk. The taxi, on the other hand, costs about 30-35 €uro, directly to the suite. From Pisa or Bologna airport, instead, there are immediate coach connections to Florence Santa Maria Novella Station and then again follow the directions as outlined above. Coming by CAR, on the other hand, one has to note that the suite lies right in the middle of the traffic restricted area (ZTL); therefore, these are the options: – either park the car in one of the municipality parking lots around the city centre at the daily cost of €uros 15-20 per night and then walk to the suite; – drive all the way to the suite and then park the car in one of the private garages in the city center at the cost of about €uros 30-35; the private garage will take care of notifying your car to the municipality in order to get the entry permit. Since Florence is not very large and driving around the city centre is not very easy, we strongly recommend leaving the car in the garage and plan on just walking around or using the bus to reach Fiesole and Piazzale Michelangelo. The car, instead, comes in useful to make some tours, such as Chianti, Pisa, Vinci, San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo.
