With views of the Chesapeake Bay, access to private beaches and just minutes away from hot spots like Calvert Cliffs and Solomon's Island. Enjoy sunrise views through the treetops each morning on the expansive back deck, alongside a fully stocked kitchen, two newly renovated bathrooms and an eco-friendly wood burning stove for autumn and winter nights. Unlike many beach houses, this home is surrounded by trees making for a dreamy Autumn destination. Upon visiting Bay Hollow Bungalow, you’ll be greeted by the soft sound of waves lapping at the Chesapeake Bay beach just beyond the property’s edge. As you move to the spacious wraparound deck, you can unwind on the Adirondack-style porch chairs that put you eye-to-eye with the numerous birds gliding through the surrounding tree canopy. The house sits atop a ridge overlooking a bustling wildlife ecosystem and protected wetlands that our family now refers to as the “Hollow.” Much of year, particularly November-April, you’ll be treated to a dramatic view of the bay. When the leaves grow in, you’ll be shrouded in greenery as you glimpse the glimmering expanse of the bay beyond and the tidal pool at the property’s outer edge. Depending on the season, you may spot bald eagles, osprey or one of the 140 bird species that live in the area. Don’t forget your binoculars! The Space Inside, the house includes 3 bedrooms, including 1 King, 1 Queen, and 1 Full bed. The house is equipped with high-speed Comcast Wi-Fi, as well as 3 smart TVs with Amazon Firesticks to allow you access to your favorite streaming platforms. The upstairs living room boasts a high-efficiency cast iron wood stove for the cooler months and beautiful vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams. The basement den features two full-sized couches (one is a futon that turns into a full bed), a game area, smart TV - the perfect spot for kids to watch movies while grownups enjoy conversation upstairs! The recently updated kitchen includes everything you need to cook and enjoy the comforts of home, including a Le Creuset dutch oven, Nutribullet, Keurig, a coffee grinder/coffee maker, toaster, cocktail shaker set, wine glasses, etc. The two full bathrooms have been recently renovated and feature Cararra marble vanities with brass fixtures. The upstairs bathroom serves the two main bedrooms (king and queen) while the downstairs bathroom serves the third bedroom and basement den. The Neighborhood Bay Hollow is situated within Chesapeake Ranch Estates (also known as the “Ranch Club”), which is an HOA-run neighborhood. As a guest of Bay Hollow, you’ll have access to two private beaches, Seahorse Beach and Driftwood Beach, as well as beach and picnic access at Lake Lariat. Note: You will need to use the guest pass on your car to access these amenities and must return the pass before you depart or you’ll incur a sizable fee. Groceries and Amenities: Bay Hollow is a 10-minute drive to two grocery stores, Dunkin’ Donuts, Ledo’s Pizza, and basically every convenience you’ll need. You can even have your groceries delivered through Instacart and other delivery services! What to do in the area? Bay Hollow is a quick 12-minute drive to Calvert Cliff’s State Park, the famous spot where people love to hunt for fossilized shark teeth. Cove Point Park (less than 10 minutes away) offers an excellent swimming pool complete with curvy slides and water features (non-residents can gain pool entry for a small fee). Down the road (18 minutes) is Solomon’s Island, MD where you can charter a deep sea fishing tour, take a sailing class, rent a boat, visit the Calvert Marine Museum, or eat at one of the many restaurants along the water. One of my personal favorite hobbies is antique shopping in St. Leonard (15 minutes away) at the Chesapeake MarketPlace or visiting Perigeaux Vineyards & Winery. Guests will be sent a unique code to access the property for the specific duration of your stay through the August Home lock system. You will be sent this code prior to your stay. You may use this code on the keypad to the right of the front door by pressing the code then the red button. You will have access to the entire property. NOTE: The laundry is located in an unfinished basement space that is not intended for use other than minimal use for laundry. Please do not allow children to play in this space. We are not available in person, but readily available via Airbnb messenger. If there is an emergency we can get the necessary people to the house. We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these "house rules" during your stay. AGE MINIMUM: 25 years old. QUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 7 am are important to maintain good relationships with our neighbors. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. NOISE MONITORING: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. PETS: We allow 1-2 well trained dogs to accompany their guest at an additional rate of $50 per dog to account for the additional cleaning fee that is required after their stay. IMPORTANT NOTE: 1) Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. Please bring doggy beds for them to get comfy in! 2) Dogs are not allowed to be left unattended, so please bring your crate for when you leave the house. BUGS: This is a house surrounded by the woods--that means there can be bugs, especially in the summertime, and, at times, bugs find their way into the house. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food. Note: a professional pest control company regularly treats the house. NO SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the house. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not throw cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off. SHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds. SEPTIC SYSTEM: This house has a septic system. Grease and oil must never be allowed down any of the sink drains. Feminine hygiene products must be thrown away in a trashcan and not flushed down a toilet. Never flush solid trash down the toilet or into a sink drain. NO FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed. NO FIREARMS: Guests may not bring firearms or ammunition inside the house. NO ILLEGAL DRUGS: Guests may not possess or consume any illegal drugs on the property.
