Tanager Brook Inn is a family oriented small business. Our historic property offers a unique luxurious vacation place complete with a private entrance, kitchen and dining room, two fireplaces and panoramic view of the Battle Creek and 1880 Train passing by. This is an apartment style unit in a duplex, second half is also rented. We are located only 4 miles from Mt. Rushmore and less than 15 minutes from Bear Country, Reptile Garden and many fun activities Black Hills have to offer. Creekview suit is a part of the historic mid 20th century home. We designed and renovated it in the Midwestern style. The suite features custom woodwork and western décor and art. It sleeps 5 people comfortably with a possibility of the 6th person staying as well. The living room features large panoramic windows overlooking private yard and creek. The unit has one cozy bedroom with a queen size bed, a set of bunk beds and a queen size Murphy bed. The kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge, a 2 burner electric cooking top, a microwave and a convection oven. There is also a gas grill on the front porch if you feel like burgers, hot dogs or even steak! There are two electric fireplaces: one in the dining room and one in the living room. They create nice ambiance and put out a fair amount of heat. Make yourself a hot cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the view of the beautiful Battle Creek from the panoramic windows. Please note that there is no on-site laundry due to space limitations. Guests have private parking and access to the suite. The keypad combination will be provided with your reservation. We are located between two small historictowns of Keystone and Hill City. Both offer many fun attractions, unique restaurants (Alpine Inn is our favorite) and amazing atmosphere. Old Hill City road is a picturesque drive of its own. It's a small and quiet community, very family friendly and nature oriented. We get regular visits from many furry and feathered friends. Enjoy the one of a kind shopping and recreation experience of Keystone and Hill City. You can ride 1880 Train between the two towns and make a whole day of exploring of it. Mt. Rushmore is only 4 miles away from Keystone. There is direct access to many picturesque locations in the Black Hills, including Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake, Sherridan Lake, Pactola Reservoir, as well as multiple hiking and biking trails.
