Description

Escape to beautiful Durras North, a hidden gem nestled within Murramarang National Park. This comfortable, modern air-conditioned beach house is literally a three minute walk to pristine Durras Lake and beach and features beautiful sea views. Kangaroos frequent the property (please don't touch or feed) along with many native bird species and assorted wildlife. Great for a short getaway, a perfect family holiday or to show overseas guests a unique slice of Australia. Relaxing and unforgettable. The space A bright, airy, clean and well-appointed classic Australian beach house. Sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. The large main living/dining/kitchen space features large windows specifically designed to capture the light and the stunning ocean views. The living/dining area has reverse-cycle air conditioning with additional heaters/fans for the bedrooms if required. There is a large-screen smart TV, VCR and videos and free wifi. The well-equipped kitchen contains a microwave oven, all cooking utensils, a coffee-pod machine and complimentary tea (bags), coffee (instant), salt and pepper, cooking oil etc Durras Lake is regarded as the best example of a pristine coastal lake in NSW and is located at the end of the street. The ocean is so close that you will go to sleep and wake up with the soothing sound of the sea. A gas BBQ and wood fire pit are located in the garden at the back of the property, along with a large outdoor table. This area is ideal for turning out the lights at night and star-gazing under the magnificent Milky Way. A truly unforgettable experience. The large undercover verandah deck is a favourite chill-out or dining spot. In migration season (basically June-December) you will regularly spot whales. Kangaroos are guaranteed at 3 By The Sea. Please do not approach or feed them...admire them from a distance. Unfortunately, because of the variety of vulnerable wildlife around the house pets are not permitted. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the whole house and garden. Other things to note There are so many things to do in North Durras you will never be bored. Name your pleasure. A few suggestions: *Swimming (lake and beach). *There are many wonderful bushwalks through a variety of environments, suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. *Canoeing and kayaking. *good surfing and bodyboarding *snorkelling and diving *bike riding/ mountain biking *Whale and dolphin spotting *great fishing...beach/rock or lake * prawning in Durras Lake in the warmer months *walk along magnificent, unspoiled Durras Beach *just relax and recharge. Read a book. Daydream. Take a nap. Watch the spectacular sunsets over Durras Lake.. *in the evening, cook a barbie. Light the firebox. Stargaze. Depot Beach (named in 'Top 10 Australian Beaches 2022') is a 5 minute drive or leisurely 20 minute walk away (but we think Durras Beach is better!). World-famous Pebbly Beach is a 15 minute drive. There is a shop attached to the local caravan park but this is only open during peak periods. There are no cafes or restaurants in the village so it is best to bring ample essential supplies with you and travel to the major shopping centres of Batemans Bay (20 minutes) or Ulladulla (35 minutes) if you need to restock or dine out. ESSENTIALS TO PACK *food including basics... bread, milk, fruit, vegies, sandwich fillings, meat, butter, breakfast cereal, chocolate etc *sunscreen *hats *personal insect repellent (Aerogard, Bushmans etc) *beach towels (not supplied) *swimmers *bikes (if you have room) *binoculars (for whale/dolphin/bird spotting) *bushwalking shoes/boots or sandshoes (don't forget your thongs!) *fishing rods/gear/bait 3 By The Sea harvests sweet rainwater for all water supplies. We love it! This is untreated so if this is an issue for you please either bring bottled water or boil and cool the tank water before drinking. Registration Details PID-STRA-33752
