While the home has been updated, we tried to maintain some historical details which makes it unique and reflects the character and history of Annapolis. Since the town was built before cars where common parking is extremely limited. There are a few options for paid parking at the Hillman Parking garage located off Main Street, it’s $24/day. You might be lucky to find an overnight spot on a side street or in the capital circle where you can park from 8:30pm to 10am. The pay-to-park spots are only for 2 hrs total/ day. We usually choose the free parking at the Calvert Street Garage where you can enter any time after 6pm weekdays and anytime on the weekends. Once you are inside the garage you can leave anytime you want (the gate will lift when you pull up to leave). THE HOME My husband graduated from the Naval Academy and has kept in contact with his adopted sponsor family. We love this town and are so excited we found a place to call our own. We love going up to visit and now enjoy bringing our children up to experience the historic town. It’s a great quick getaway that has so much to do and see. We decided we’d love a chance to live there one day and jumped at the chance to own this piece of history. We also want to share it with our friends. Inside you’ll find a strategically curated space that includes some of our personal details of places we have been deployed or places that have special meaning to us. Many of the items have a story or history behind them. The beds and seating were selected with comfort in mind. There is a room for everyone to gather as well as private spaces for alone time. LIVING SPACES While the home is small it was furnished to maximize the living spaces and make sure there is plenty of space and has an open feel. No work and all play! There is a dining table that will comfortably seat 6 people. ROOMS Each bedroom has windows with lots of natural light and black out curtains for great sleep. Both bedrooms are TV free purposely designed as a retreat from screens with high end mattresses and linens with plenty of storage and drawers. Each bedroom has luggage racks, bedside charging ports, as well as a sunrise light alarm clock. Don’t worry about jamming in your body wash or shampoo and conditioner, we have you covered with Beekman 1802 products. Every bed has high quality, soft, breathable sheets, a comforter, quilt, and two pillows per person. -Room 1 – 1 King bed The king mattress is a Helix GlacioTexTM Cooling cover, CertiPUR-US (R) and GREENGUARD gold certified, zero fiberglass. The most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. The master bath is located just a step down the hallway with a bathtub/ shower combination. I provide Beekman 1802 Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. -Room 2 – Queen bed The queen has an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The queen mattress is a Helix GlacioTexTM Cooling cover, CertiPUR-US (R)and GREENGUARD gold certified, zero fiberglass. The best night’s sleep! Guess access Guests have access to the entire property. There is no on-site parking. Other things to note: ~ Minimum age to rent is 25 and primary guest must stay for the duration of the booking. ~ A photo ID to verify age at the time of booking is required to finalize your reservation. ~ A rental contract must be signed online via your email address within 24 hours of booking. Please review the sample contract attached prior to booking. ~We are not small children-friendly home due to the stair situation. SECURITY CAMERAS We have a G nest doorbell and 1 exterior camera that will record audio & video upon motion detection; one in the back of the house overlooking the patio and backdoor. These are primarily to ensure that our maintenance services are being performed. There are no cameras inside the house. We have one G nest home thermostat (lower level) and one G protect smoke and CO alarm (in the upstairs hallway). They do not record audio or video. Tenant and any guest of Tenant shall obey all laws of the state of Maryland, as well as local laws, at all times while they are on the property. Failure to abide by the laws of Maryland or the above rules may cause tenant to be asked to vacate the premises and forfeit all rents and security/damage deposits. All noise must be brought inside by 10pm. Failure to do so could result in a $500 fine. MAINTENANCE Our home is over a century old in a residential neighborhood built with homes on top of homes. Please report any maintenance needs for the premises to the us immediately and we will respond as quickly as possible. Refunds will not be made for maintenance issues including, but not limited to heating and air conditioning, appliances, televisions, and stereos. While we stay on top of pest maintenance, we ask you to expect that bugs may enter the home when doors are left open, get tracked in on shoes and luggage. If you have allergies to bees, please be aware there will likely be bees buzzing around. There will not be any refunds or cancellations regarding normal bugs. We appreciate your understanding of this. SAFETY CONSIDERATION: If the power was to go out while you are there, we have flashlights located in the kitchen closet closest to the backdoor. There is also a fire extinguisher located on the wall near the back door and another one in the kitchen closet. Guest access Keyless entry system
