Where is your house located? Our house is in northern Nicosia old town, close to Ledra Street Checkpoint. 2 minutes walking distance from the checkpoint. Don't worry about it. %95 of our guests (from all around the world) are coming from the south side without a problem. You will have an advantage to see both sides of the island. Will we have problems crossing to the north from the south? No, Unless you are Nigerian, Syrian, or Armenian, you don't need a visa to cross to northern Nicosia. If you are an EU citizen, you just need to show your ID cards, If not, you need your passport to show to the officers. It takes 1 minute to cross the border. Will we have problems crossing to the south from the north if we enter the country from Ercan Airport? If you don't need a visa to enter the Cyprus Republic, you will not have a problem. If you are an EU citizen, You need to show your ID Card. USA , Australia, and Canadia citizens need to show their passports. If you are from Some African countries, and Asian Countries, you need a visa. So try to find information about your country. Is Northern Cyprus Safe for tourists? Yes for sure. There is some black propaganda on the internet area by some nationalists. Don't believe them. Northern Cyprus is one of the safest countries in the world. I had over 200 guests. Nobody complained. What is the advantage of staying in Northern Cyprus? Most of the historical, medieval buildings are located in Northern Nicosia. People mostly like the Northern part more than the Southern Part of Nicosia because people are more welcome, These are what I hear from my guests. What time you can cross from the checkpoints? 7/24. Checkpoints are open every day and every hour. You can cross the border unlimited time in 24 hours. Can you cross by rented car from the checkpoints? Depends on your rental company. Some rental companies allow it, and some do not allow it. You need to ask it before you rent a car. If you rent a car without asking and you are not able to cross the border, you can park your car close to Ledra Street (Lokmaci Checkpoint) and you can walk for a couple of minutes. Our house is very close to Lokmaci Checkpoint. Also, keep in mind that you need to pay an insurance fee to cross to northern Cyprus by car. It is around 25-30 euros depending on how long you stay.
