French Broad RiverSide Retreat, Marshall

Indulge yourselves at this unique and tranquil getaway home overlooking the French Broad River. The lovely town of Marshall within walking distance was devastated by Hurricane Helene and will rebuild in time. The road to our house runs alongside the river and most of the water level homes were damaged or destroyed. But once at the end of the road where we are perched, you’ll enjoy privacy and natural beauty of the river. . . . . . . . Share a link with friends... Heart us too! . The space Overlooks French Broad River, one of the oldest and wildest rivers in the world. House is close enough to river to hear indoors with windows open. 2020 built single level home with front porch entrance (3 steps up). Large concrete parking area (up to 2 cars). Generous and well appointed kitchen. Fire pit and river access. BYOB(boat). Railroad tracks behind house, expect one train in AM going one way and one train in PM going other way. Small washer/dryer available with soap. Shower/tub combo, linens provided. One of a couple homes on quiet dead end street. Very private most of the time. Watch for our resident river skimming eagle. Lots of geese, birds and insects, and truly is a remarkable river home. Bring your fishing gear. Please understand the amount of devastation Hurricane Helena dealt our area will be apparent along Rollins Road. We are all still working to clean up and restore beauty. Our property is back to normal with exception of soil buildup near lower area fire pit which we are working to have moved. We do not accept pets. No smoking in the house. Guest access Guests have leased the main bedroom and the rest of the house/grounds. The grounds near the river can be muddy since the flood, please use caution. The guest bedroom is for the owner's private storage room and should remain private. The gray and black tow behind camper (if on property) is also private, please do not attempt to use. Other things to note Open the windows and enjoys the sounds of the river. Sleep deeply on the new queen size memory foam bed. Mini-split climate control in both living area and bedroom, plus ceiling fans for your comfort. Generous contemporary sofa to enjoy river views. Take an afternoon hammock siesta under the willow tree. We do not accept pets.
