Description
The joy of camping without having to bring your own tent or sleep on the floor! Get away from it all with our back-to-basics yurt-style tent complete with camp beds, chairs, table and stove, nestled in the heart of our 3 acre woodland garden. With access to the Tarka trail just a few minutes' walk for the cycling and walking enthusiasts and the beautiful coastline of Westward Ho! and Instow a 15-20 minute drive away, we are ideally placed to provide you with a rustic camping experience. The space Things to note: - Our tent is on a platform amidst the trees a bit away from the house to give you some privacy, but you have access to an indoor toilet in our house (the path is lit with solar fairy lights at night) and a camping toilet near the tent for convenience. Please note, there are no shower facilities. - The terrain is quite wild so this would not suit guests with mobility issues. It also can get quite muddy in wet weather so boots are recommended. - There is parking for one car and guests are welcome to explore the woodland gardens, much of which is very child friendly. We have some swings, play equipment and a small zip-wire that requires adult supervision. - Within the tent there are up to four single camp beds, although two are better suited to children. Bedding is provided. - A camping gas stove is provided to be used outside the tent alongside basic equipment and some camping chairs and table, so you can relax and enjoy a good book while the kids cook the sausages. We can help refrigerate anything if necessary. Please leave the cooking equipment clean before you leave. - Brambles and nettles are the bane of our lives! Don’t let them be the bane of yours – stick to the designated areas to avoid the prickles, but enjoy some blackberries! - By prior agreement, we have a campfire circle and fire pit that you can use to toast marshmallows and tell stories. All can be set up with the treats included for £15. - We have some hens. You’re welcome to come and introduce yourselves. There may be eggs available for purchase. - This camping experience would suit families or people who are looking to relax and enjoy nature, although it may not be suitable for very young children as the decking is about a metre off the ground and the terrain is a bit rough. It’s definitely not a party tent! - This is not quite a glamping experience, it’s a step above camping. - There are some kennels across the valley. Occasionally the dogs wind each other up and you can hear their howling from the tent. - My husband and I and our three young children are usually around on and off throughout the day, looking after the chickens and working around the land. Our paths will cross but your privacy will be respected. We are very willing to help out with anything you might need so please do not hesitate to bang on the door for anything. Please keep the noise down after 8ish so as not to wake the kids and to respect our neighbours.
