1820 House and Farm - 84 Acres

A 203 year old farmhouse on an 84 acre farm. Mostly forest with 2 streams and a pond. We are in the process of resurrecting the farm. We use organic practices and native flower gardens to encourage and support insect and wildlife diversity. Beautiful views with a large concrete patio off of the kitchen. Pets welcome but subject to approval. A five minute drive from downtown Franklin and from our airport (FKL). Please note that the ground floor queen bedroom is unavailable. The space There is no fence for wandering pets between the house and the nearby road. Route 62 abuts the property. You can hear the road from the front of the property. We have a dog door. Not suitable for toddlers and small children under 6 years. There are ticks in the forest, especially in the spring and fall. We We wear muck boots and are out every day and do not get ticks. Our dog has nexGard and she does not get ticks on our walks. We are a working farm with equipment and a pond. There is a fire pit in the yard off of the patio, a grill for the fire pit and a charcole grill. No central air, there are window fans for the bedrooms. We have organic coffee and tea as well as light breakfast items. A caretaker may be on the property, but not in the main house. In the summer there will be workers and customers down at the blueberries and barn area. The manager's dog may be there. We may also be mowing as it takes several days to mow the front of the property. The dumpster truck (loud) also comes in the early hours of the morning twice a month (Mondays). Guest access You will have access to the entire property except for the outbuildings and farm machinery. Two bedrooms will be available. We are not opening the downstairs bedroom (our son is at college and it is his room). We will have coffee, loose leaf tea, condiments, and other miscellaneous items for you to use. We will also have shampoo, conditioner and soap. Other things to note The old house is a work in progress. Some outbuildings are in need of repair and some parts of the old house. There is much landscaping that is not finished. The farm had been virtually abandoned when we bought it.
