Dome in Fort Ann

Perched above a pristine private lake, camp under the canopy and stars in the Adirondacks. This glamping experience is your jumping off point to numerous beautiful hikes or a day exploring with the paddle boards, kayaks, or canoe available for your use from your private dock. Your stay includes a cozy queen bed and charming eco-friendly outhouse just steps away. Enjoy a camp fire and smores under the solar powered cafe lights. 20 minutes from Lake George village, restaurants, shopping, and more. The space This is an off the grid experience, but not without all of the comforts you need for an enjoyable experience! Think camping but in comfort! There are no power outlets, all items provided are battery operated. USB chargers are available for cell phones during your stay and reliable wifi from the cottage nearby. This quiet 58 acre fresh water swimmable lake is without public access, making for an incredibly private experience. A 2.5 gallon water container is provided for sink use at the outhouse and refillable upon request. The shared outdoor shower has both hot and cold running water, which unfortunately must be shut off at first frost in late September/early October. The relaxing rain-head shower is located a quick 1 minute walk down from the dome (mid-way between the cottage on property which allows for the shower to have hot water) and is shared with a sister-site coming in summer 2024. Two camping cots with plush bedding are provided for stays exceeding two guests. Children and teens are welcome as guests, however, the property includes elevated spaces, uneven walkways, and open water. Please contact the host to discuss whether this stay is appropriate for your family. Only guests included on the reservation are permitted use of the property during your stay. A grill is available with all of the basic utensils- Spatula, tongs, grill brush, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, silverware, water kettle, french press, cutting board, knife, lighter, cast iron skillet, grill pan, sponges, wash rags, roasting sticks, and grill grate for over open fire. Some firewood is provided (one camp fire worth) but it's advisable to purchase some local dry wood, readily and conveniently sold roadside for $4-5 per bundle (Vertical Farms in Fort Ann is one convenient location). Newspaper and lighter/fire starter are provided. The in-Dome woodstove is available beginning in mid-September. The inside woodstove is NOT available in spring, so please bring layers! Extra blankets are provided in the dome, and extra-extra blankets are available upon request. Friendly and curious free range chickens share the 3 acre property and help provide tick population management. No outside watercraft allowed. NO exceptions. The conditions of the dirt road can be impacted by weather such as heavy rain. It is advisable to arrive in a 4WD vehicle, however, 2WD vehicles with normal clearance are appropriate as well. 2WD vehicles with a lower bottom clearance are not suitable for the dirt road. *There is NO access to electricity/electrical outlets. We supply a number of battery operated items (lights, fans, power banks for phone charging). *There is NO refrigerator, however, we supply a small cooler you can bring ice for. Guest access Private dirt road entrance with parking available for up to 2 cars. The conditions of the dirt road can be impacted by weather such as heavy rain. Guests have access to the private lake from your own private dock and your choice of canoe, kayak, or paddle boards to tour around with. The sunsets from the west-facing dock are spectacular!
