Looking for tranquility? A creative vibe or just a stunning green space overlooking the mountains? This Pahadi style unit is really an Eden up in the sky. Mussoorie is a mere 30 min drive from our location (though it will seem like a 5 min walk from the lawn) and all of the major clubs and cafés are located at walking distance. Please note: We have pets on the premises and would prefer it if our visitors too, were dog lovers. The space Our space is a duplex penthouse situated right next to the Mussoorie hills. It has a private access to the terrace. The space that will be available for guests is on the upper floor of the duplex. It has one spacious bedroom and an even bigger lounge area with pahadi style glass doors. The bedroom has been tastefully designed and comes with an attached bathroom, a fixed projector and a fully openable sliding door leading out onto a cute little verandah with an antique 'Jhoola' or swing bed. The lounge area is mostly french window style doors that open on to our lush garden. You may enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains and be greeted by the chirping of the birds that nest here. The terrace is accessible by stairs and is home to my mother's bountiful vegetable garden. If you happen to be around at the right time, organic vegetables will be served to you from our own little vegetable patch. There is separate elevator access to this floor that does not go through the main house. Guest access The guests are welcome to use every space on this floor except for my father's home office. The lawn and terrace may need to be tended to from time to time, hence that should be considered as a common area (though we prefer to give guests complete privacy during their stay). The dogs stay with the family downstairs and are let out on to the terrace a few times a day to run around and play. Please note, they will not be around you unless invited. During your stay We would be happy to socialize with the guests if they wish it. Otherwise, the space is yours. Other things to note We are a family of 6, which includes myself, my parents, my grandmother and our two dogs. While we want you to have the best time staying with us, we do expect that you respect the space and it's occupants. Some things to keep in mind for a peaceful stay: 1. Please refrain from playing very loud music or being otherwise noisy. This is a peaceful space and we would love for you to share that experience with us. 2. You are welcome to drink, however, please do so responsibly and ensure that no ruckus or damage to property is caused by it. Smoking is not allowed indoors. The use of any illegal substances is strictly prohibited on the property. 3. The main gate to the house is locked at night, once everyone retires at around 11 PM. Please let us know in advance if you will be coming in late so we can open it for you. (We do prefer it if you return at a decent time). 4. Our house has been designed with a lot of love and is filled with family antiques, please treat them with love and kindness during your stay. Please note: Delicious home-cooked meals are available on request. Our cook is a whiz in the kitchen! Also, since our space inspires a certain spiritual exploration, we do arrange for Yoga sessions on demand with a National Level Yoga practitioner (for an added fee).
