Description

Enjoy privacy and picturesque views on our 130 acre farm in upstate New York in one of our two rustic cabins. Spend your days fishing in a stocked pond and at night watching the stars next to a camp fire. The cabins are lit up with solar lamps and an outside toilet is just a few steps away. The hutch has a supply of different board and card games. All dogs are welcomed here and they will even have a stocked treat jar awaiting them. The space Each cabin is a studio cabin with one queen size bed, dining room table and two rocking chairs to sit and watch the gorgeous view. You will definitely be unplugged up here since we don't have WiFi and limited cell service. One other thing to note- even though we are working on getting running water to the cabins, as of right now we only have bottled water but we do have a toilet inside (with a septic) you have to add water to the tank to flush. We also have a General store less than a mile away from the cabins. The store carries all essentials and supplies. Coffee, breakfast sandwiches, pizza, wings, salads. Fresh donuts are made daily. Dimon in the Rough cabins are just 18 miles from downtown Ithaca, which is renowned for its glorious natural features with gorgeous waterfalls, State Parks, and gorges. Just 18 miles from Cornell as well as Ithaca College. Also, close to wine tours, restaurants, and shopping. Ithaca has numerous hiking trails, parks, and falls such as Stewart Park on Cayuga lake, Cascadilla Gorge, Buttermilk Falls State Park, Taughannock Falls State Park, Robert H. Treman State Park and a little further away (33 miles) is Watkins Glen State Park. Owego is a short 15-minute drive from the cabins that has a quaint little town with great restaurant and shops. One of my favorite things to do in Owego is browse the antique shops and eat at MJ’s Restaurant or The Cellar Restaurant. If your plans are to stay at the cabins to get some private time to enjoy the farm views, and explore, your more than welcome to wonder around the farm or Just a few miles away from the cabins is Jenksville State Forest, which encompasses 1,345 acres of multiple-use trail system that provides recreation for hiking, biking, bird watching, horseback riding. Guest access Be our guests, please feel free to use anything we have available at the cabins and pond. We have a propane grill on site, cast iron pots, cleaning supplies and a first aid kit. Other things to note The cabin is heated and air conditioned by a generator. We don't have WiFi or running water at this time. We stock bottled water for our guests and we do have a flushable toilet if you add water to the tank. Stay tuned for running water in the near future! Four wheel drive is needed to make it up to the cabins, we do have a gator to take up if needed.
