Shanti Bari is a cosy riverside villa, located in the beautiful village of Moira, in North Goa. Boasting stunning views of the river and mangroves, with a private pool, modern furnishings, plush bedrooms, multiple living areas & a yoga terrace, it is perfect for those looking to enjoy Goa’s natural beauty, away from the regular tourist spots. The space THE ROOMS The villa can accommodate 4 guests in 2 rooms (one room on the ground floor and one on the first floor). Both rooms are air conditioned, spacious, and with ensuite bathroom. An additional guest can be accommodated on an extra mattress, on a super-cool loft attached to the first floor bedroom. COMMON AREAS Living and Dining With an open feel, our living and dining space has multiple french windows, allowing plenty of natural light in to house. Aesthetically designed, it offers a sense of warmth and tranquillity as soon as your enter the space. Garden and Veranda The living area opens out to the beautiful veranda and garden, which face the tranquil backwaters of the Moira river. Mornings in Shanti Bari are best spent in the veranda - watching the river silently float by, listening to the chirping birds, watching the playful squirrels, admiring the butterflies, getting surprised by the occasional mongoose (!) and waiting for the neighbourhood kingfisher to pay a visit. Private Swimming Pool Just beyond the veranda is the private pool with a shower and a sit out. Take a dip in the day for soaking up the sun, or in the evening while watching the sunset. Yoga Terrace Our serene yoga terrace can accommodate up to 6 people for private classes or workshops. Whether you a beginner to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, we can organise a rejuvenating session for your practice. Family Lounge Spend the day reading, entertain yourself with a few games in our lounge THE NEIGHBOURHOOD The village of Moira is picturesque and has a simple, old-world charm. The green, tropical landscape is soothing and invigorating as you walk through quaint village lanes and along the Moira river passing charming Goan homes. - Moira church - about 15 minute scenic walk - A highly-rated neighbourhood restaurant hosted in a beautiful family home - 5 minute drive - Mapusa town – 10 minute drive DISTANCE FROM BEACHES - The tourist beaches of Anjuna / Baga / Calangute are about 20 minute drive away - The quieter beaches of Mandrem / Arambol / Ashwem are about 40 minute drive away Guest access Guests have access to the common areas and rooms booked by them Other things to note Stable Wi-fi connection available in all areas • Our caretaker lives on the premises in separate staff quarters, and will be available for any assistance you need during your stay. • Breakfast is included with your booking and is served from 8 to 10:30a.m. Breakfast typically includes fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, one hot dish like poha or idli, Goan bread (poi), tea / coffee • For other meals - Many popular restaurants offer delivery to the villa via Swiggy app. Or our caretaker can prepare home-style food (veg and non-veg thali) at an extra cost. Guests do not have access to the kitchen for cooking. • Swimming pool timings are 7 am to 7 pm. Swimming pool is for the use of guests living in the villa (resident guests) only. Children in the pool must be accompanied by adults at all times • A personal vehicle / taxi is a must to move around. Car parking space is available at the villa • Guests need to provide a government ID that shows address (viz. passport, driving license, Aadhar card) at the time of check-in. Foreign nationals must provide a copy of their passport and visa • Outside guests are not allowed for security reasons • CCTV cameras are installed in the property. 2 cameras cover the outdoors (the entrance gate and the river access) and 1 camera is installed in the kitchen. The kitchen camera is switched off when guests visit; it is installed for security and to prevent misuse when the villa is empty. There are no other indoor cameras and we are very mindful of guest privacy. • No loud music or in-house parties • No smoking inside the house • We have an inverter (battery) power back up but the air conditioners, pumps do not work on the inverter.
