Description
The old schoolhouse is located in the Ardèche department but borders the Lozère and Gard departments. The building dates from around 1865 and was used as a primary school until 1979. Spacious and quiet, it is built on a rocky promontory which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Chassezac valley. It is easy to see why the spot where it was built was once called 'Bellevue'. The space The old schoolhouse has two floors. On the ground floor there is a large living room leading to the dining room that looks out onto the garden and its shaded patio. On the other side of the dining-room is the kitchen and a corridor with the central staircase leading to the first floor. There are 4 bedrooms including a master bedroom of 25m2 with a reading area and also a desk to work at. There is a bathroom with a bath and separate toilet and also a shower room with toilet. Guest access The gîte is completely independent. You have access to the whole building apart from the rooms where tools and spare bed linen etc is stored Other things to note Hello, my name is Edward. I'm a native English speaker but I've lived in the Cevennes for 30. My children and grandchildren have grown up in this house and love coming back here on holiday. If I can help you get to know this part of France and enjoy it as much as I do, I will be delighted. Registration Details 072660092168
