Inside the town, (opening in phases) stay overnight in the county jail, old bank or head over to the Indian village and relax in one of the two belle tent yurts while sleeping under the stars. In the morning, clean up at our unique saloon-themed bathhouse due to open summer 2024. On the outskirts of Cowtown, is an award-winning hideaway tiny house and a unique barndominium where you can kick back in a jacuzzi and melt your stresses away. While you're here, stroll over to the cattle pasture and you'll notice our majestic mascot, "Herbie" peacefully grazing. Herbie is our resident Miniature Scottish Highland which is a hairy type of cattle. However, Herbie is noted for his unique, crooked horns! You'll also be able to enjoy a round of cornhole or horseshoes in our new game areas. The Painted Pony is one of two beautiful Lotus Belle yurts at our glampground. There's plenty of room for two guests, (children need to be over 12yo) there's also an outdoor grill to prepare your favorite meal, a picnic table under a shade tree, and a fire pit with two chairs included. Inside, the space is a comfy queen-sized bed with clean linens included, a sitting area with books and major western-boho vibes throughout. You'll be happy to know the glampground has WIFI access so you can easily keep up with work and play while being just minutes from popular beaches. Cowtown Cabins is centrally located with a McDonald's, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, two grocery stores and even a pharmacy nearby. You will also find Thunder Lagoon Waterpark and live concerts at Freeman Stage which is just down the street! Everything you could want will be at your fingertips! Cowtown Cabins is located in Selbyville, Delaware. We are on the border of Maryland and very close to North Ocean City, MD. The property has been a horse-rescuing ranch for over two decades and is now expanding to offer many unique structures in an "Old West" theme. Cowtown Glamping Cabins will stay open year-round and will be available for families, groups, organizations, retreats, and even the occasional western-themed wedding. BATHROOMS & SHOWERS -Glamp guests have access to the open outdoor hot/ cold rinse station (outdoor shower) up at the stables. Please see the pictures. -Keep in mind, our brand NEW, year-round bathhouse is under construction and isn't open just yet, but keep an eye on this as it's happening soon and we will change this listing and show pictures once it's ready. Until then, plan to use our flushable portable potty (like we had last year.) WHAT TO BRING - A cooler with you to keep drinks and food cold in the yurt and at the beach. Ice is for sale less than a mile away at a gas station or grocery store. - Your own bath towels, beach towels, shampoo etc - An extra fan in the summer - Electric blankets or thick blankets for fall camping - Firewood & charcoal for grilling (we also have some for sale on-site) - Bring everything you need to camp out comfortably! We can't wait to see you at the ranch! FAQ's 1. Can I bring kids? Children must be ages 12yo and up for both yurts (Stargazer & Painted Pony.) ---> Remember this stay is for 2 people max. 2. Can I smoke? The yurts are strictly NO smoking inside, no vaping and no marijuana smoking as the next guest will appreciate an odorless welcome and you'll avoid an extra "deep cleaning" fee. 3. Which yurt should I choose? The main difference between the Painted Pony yurt and the Stargazer yurt is the roof and setting. The Stargazer yurt has a clear roof and sits in the open. (Keep in mind elements out of our control like wind, dust, and pollen counts can make the Stargazer yurt roof less clear.) The Painted Pony yurt has a regular canvas roof and sits in the shade. Both yurts have 3-speed fans included as the yurt tents do not have AC/ heat. Bring an extra fan if you'd like in the peak summer months. 4. Extra guests? For the 2024 season, the yurts have a strict 2-guest-only policy. 5. Can friends (not on my reservation) come visit me? No. All visitors here must be registered guests as the public is not granted access here. 6. How far is the beach? North Ocean City, MD and Fenwick Island DE are both only 6 miles away. 7. !!!! Currently glamping guests have access to our outdoor shower (see pictures.) Since it's an open shower, feel free to bring a shower tent if you prefer more privacy. We also have a flushable portable potty. Keep in mind, we are under construction and our bathhouse is underway. It's due to open in the next few months !!!! 8. How secure is the camping area? There is a coded entrance gate at the property entrance along with 6 outdoor security cameras that stay on 24 hours a day for guest and livestock safety. The locations are 2 at the entrance gate, barn house entrance/building overhang, tiny house entrance, horse grooming area, parking area, and inside the stables. These outdoor cameras also record at night and are available for any emergency services to review. Management also lives on-site. 9. Are there animals nearby? Yes! Cowtown is named after our unique Scottish Highland bull with one horn up and one down. You'll see “Herbie” peacefully grazing in a nearby pasture along with horses, goats, an alpaca, a rare curly-haired pig, a fluffy sheep, a peacock and fancy top-hat chickens that all call the ranch here, home. 10. What on-site activities are there? Our most popular experience is the "Chores N' Tour” where you meet up with Shelley to feed all 20+ animals. Go ahead! take selfies with Fonzie the kissing alpaca, play the rollover challenge with Charlotte the pig and give hay to the jumping goats. As a bonus, Shelley will also let you check out the inside of any unoccupied Airbnbs on the property to plan your next trip! Chores n' tour is $10/ person and lasts between 60 +/- minutes. Also on-site, are Brush N Bond sessions, horse whispering lessons and farm animal paint sessions. You can book activities and get available times once you check-in. Chores N' Tour tends to run daily around 8AM in the summer and 10AM in the winter. 11. Do guests have access to the entire ranch? No, guests have access to the glampground, cornhole, new horseshoe pit area and parking area here at the ranch. The rest of the property is reserved for animal pastures (habitats) and fenced off for safety. Animals are easily viewed from all locations. 12. What sounds can I expect to hear? Expect to hear typical sounds of nature such as crickets, owls and the crackling of a fire. In the morning, you'll hear our sweet goat trio, Charlotte the pig, and her "oinks," maybe a "moooo" along with the occasional "honk" from Petey our peacock who is ready for breakfast! Luckily for all of us, there are no roosters :) 13. What are the check-out procedures? We ask that guests leave the yurt the way they found it (neat and tidy.) We love to brag about super clean guests! Guests will have access to the Painted Pony yurt, outdoor picnic table, fire pit with two chairs, the outdoor hot/cold rinse area and the portable toilet. Each yurt site has it's own shade tree. Free parking on site. To get around car is best, UBER and LYFT can also pick up at our entrance gate. Keep in mind the belle tent yurt is a strictly a non- smoking space and accommodates two guests only. Plan to see Shelley tending to animals, giving lessons and experiences throughout your stay. The ranch is a magical place where you can throw your worries away. Fuzzy animals greet you at the fence and the good vibe is absolutely contagious. We're literally around the corner from Bethany Beach/ Fenwick Island/ North Ocean City beaches. It’s peaceful, quiet and serene here and everything you need is very close by. You'll have a grocery store down the street, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, McDonald's, and tons of restaurants, and even a water park nearby! Truly the best of ranch and beach life! Free parking on site. To get around car is best, UBER and LYFT can also pick up at our location. Keep in mind, pick up is at the entrance gate, not the yurts. This glamping setup is perfect for your adventurer within! Enjoy a comfy queen-sized bed after a long day at the beach and have a BBQ on the grill and a fire crackling at night. A hot/ cold rinse area up at the stables is perfect to get the sand off and there is a bathhouse with hot/ cold showers and a bathroom just a few footsteps away. Keep in mind the belle tent yurt is strictly a non-smoking space and is for 2 guests only.
