This totally remodeled, cozy, lake cottage offers an unforgettable stay for your group of up to 7. The cottage is very cheerful and light. You will enjoy the unique layout and lake decor. There is an abundance of wildlife and peaceful views surrounding the large yard. You will find everything you need here for a great getaway. The new kitchen is fully equipped and laundry is included. You are 20 minutes from Shipshewana which offers shopping, flea market, auctions, and 3 theatres. The space You won't have any problem finding Big Fish Cottage. It is the only one with red fish shutters!!! There is room for 3 cars in the driveway. You will easily access the home through keyless access and enter through the door on the back deck. You will immediately see the wall composed of the vintage crates from the 1920s. The boards, which read "THIS END UP", "Ship to Ft. Wayne", etc ., were the original floor of the attic we removed over the living room and kitchen area. We wanted to retain a little piece of the cottage's history. You will then notice a "Welcome to Big Fish Cottage" sign. To your left, is the dining area with 3 big windows for your lake view. Above the opening for the living room there are antique fly rods. There is a vaulted ceiling in the living room with up-lighting in the beam. The window valences are on canoe paddles throughout the cottage. The same canoe paddles were used for a loft railing to insure your safety. Walking into the kitchen, you will notice the coffee bar atop an antique treadle sewing machine base. The drawer under the Keurig has an assortment of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. Creamer and multiple sweeteners are also provided. There is a dishwasher, garbage disposal, ice maker, washer and dryer to accommodate your needs. The kitchen is fully equipped. The large sink faucet is from our artesian well. The small faucet on the left is reverse osmosis. All the water is safe to drink. The beds are all new and were selected for comfort. There is an assortment of pillow types available. The lights in the bedrooms are touch activated with multiple chargers attached. After climbing up the loft ladder, you will see 3 single Tempur-Pedic beds. Children love having their own area and are kept safe by the canoe paddle railing. The light in loft is solid glass with bubbles to simulate star light. The bathroom is definitely lake themed with the dock cleat towel holders, fish wallpaper, and a fish scale shower curtain. Outside, the deck has a porch swing and Adirondack chairs for you to relax and listen to the sand hill cranes and watch the lake. There is a large yard with a fire pit and complimentary kindling and wood. It is a great place to sit by the lake at night or to use the slide-over grill to cook hamburgers and hot dogs. A corn hole game, foot balls, kick balls, soccer balls, cornhole and a croquet set are available in the 3rd shed. The shoreline has been dredged and you are able to fish, swim and dock your boat at the cottage. We also have have kayaks and life jackets available for your use. Just let us know how many you need.
