Description
Dixona, the historic home across Hwy 25 from the Caretaker Cottage, was built is 1787 by Tilman Dixon. Pres. Washington awarded Tilman a share of land for fighting in the Revolutionary War. He traveled by boat traversing rivers and creeks until he found the spring near the cottage. He built the only home in the area which became the first post office, tavern and court for the area. Today, the Caretaker Cottage embodies the simple accommodations of one who would look out for Dixona Farm. The space Our Cottage has 1 queen bed , and a roll away bed
